Timothy L. Schmitz
Timothy L. Schmitz was a Republican member of the Illinois House of Representatives, representing the 49th district from 1999 to 2015. He was an Assistant Republican Leader. Early life and career Schmitz was born September 26, 1965, in Geneva, Illinois. He earned a Bachelor of Arts in political science and public administration from Augustana College. From 1989 to 1992, he worked as a policy staffer for House Minority Leader Lee Daniels. At some point, he entered real estate development becoming the owner of ARS Land Group. Schmitz began serving as a paid, on-call firefighter with the Batavia Fire Department. He and his wife Julianne have two sons. Schmitz was elected to the Batavia City Council in 1995 where he would serve a single term. Gilberts, Illinois
Gilberts is a village in Kane County, Illinois, United States. The population was 8,366 at the 2020 census. History The beginnings of recorded human settlement in the area of Gilberts was recorded in the War of 1812, when General Scott began waging war against the native American tribes that inhabited the area, including the Blackhawks, Alconquin, and Potawatomi. Beginning in the 1820s, European settlement in the region began. In 1840, the Potawatomi sold their land and moved westwards, making the entire area now inhabited by European settlers. In 1852, Gilberts Station opened, named after the Gilberts, the largest landowners in the area. Specifically, Amasa Gilbert, a pioneer who was a part of the Gilberts family. Burlington, Illinois
Burlington is a village in Kane County, Illinois, United States. The population was 535 at the 2020 census, down from 618 in 2010. It was incorporated as a village on November 6, 1990. History Burlington was platted by Andrew Pingree in 1851. It was named after the Burlington Northern Railroad, which runs through the south edge of the village. In 1878, the area had three cheese factories, a general store, a hotel and a saloon. A post office under the name "Burlington" has been in operation since 1906. The last dairy plant closed in the 1970s. Since the early 1990s, Burlington has been home to two small plastics companies.
