Timothy Gallwey
W. Timothy Gallwey (born 1938 in San Francisco) is an author who has written a series of books in which he has set forth a methodology for coaching and for the development of personal and professional excellence in a variety of fields that he calls "the Inner Game". Since he began writing in the 1970s, his books include ''The Inner Game of Tennis'', ''The Inner Game of Golf'', ''The Inner Game of Music'' (with Barry Green), ''Inner Skiing'' and ''The Inner Game of Work''. Gallwey's seminal work is ''The Inner Game of Tennis'', with more than one million copies in print. Besides sports, his training methods have been applied to the fields of business, health, and education. Career In 1960, Gallwey was captain of the Harvard University Tennis Team. Barry Green
Barry Green is an American orchestral and solo double bass player and teacher. He was the principal bassist for the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra. A contemporary of people such as Gary Karr, he has developed and publicized his own method for double bass. Works He has published three instructional books, ''The Inner Game of Music'' (Doubleday, 1986-over 250,000 copies sold ), ''The Mastery of Music: Ten Pathways to True Artistry'' (Broadway Books 2003), and ''Bringing Music to Life'' (2009 GIA Music). Francine Du Plessix Gray
Francine du Plessix Gray (September 25, 1930 – January 13, 2019), was a French-American Pulitzer Prize–nominated writer and literary critic. Early life and education She was born on September 25, 1930, in Warsaw, Poland, where her father, Vicomte Bertrand Jochaud du Plessix, was a French diplomat – the commercial attaché. She spent her early years in Paris, where a milieu of mixed cultures and a multilingual family (French father and Russian mother) influenced her. Her father, then a sub-lieutenant in the Free French Air Force died in 1940, shot down near Gibraltar. Her mother, Tatiana Iacovleff du Plessix (1906–1991), had come to France as a refugee from Bolshevik Russia, and ended an engagement to Vladimir Mayakovsky in 1928, before marrying du Plessix. Coaching is a form of development in which an experienced person, called a ''coach'', supports a learner or client in achieving a specific personal or professional goal by providing training and guidance.
