Timothy Davis (activist)
Timothy A. Davis (born September 24, 1955) is an American cannabis rights activist, cyclist, gardener, politician, writer, retired warehouse laborer, and disc jockey. A founding member of the Grassroots Party in 1986, Davis was their candidate for Minnesota Lieutenant Governor in 1994, and United States Senator in 1996 and 2012. Davis, who helped establish a Saint Louis, Missouri, chapter of the National Organization for the Reform of Marijuana Laws in the 1970s, headed the Minnesota branch of the organization during the 1980s and 1990s. Davis, a resident of Minneapolis, is state chairperson of the Minnesota Legal Marijuana Now Party. Early career Tim Davis began his environmental activism career by taking part in the first Earth Day in April, 1970. Davis volunteered for the Missouri chapter of NORML beginning in the mid-1970s, for more than ten years, until he moved to Minnesota. Timothy Davis (Iowa Politician)
Timothy Davis (March 29, 1794 – April 27, 1872) was an attorney, businessman, and politician in Missouri and Iowa. He is most notable for his service as a one-term U.S. Representative from Iowa's 2nd congressional district. Early life Davis was born in Newark, New Jersey to Sylvanus Davis and Polly (Carnes) Davis. After the War of 1812, lawyers from Tennessee, Kentucky, Virginia, and North Carolina, migrated to Missouri. Timothy Davis migrated to Kentucky in 1816 and passed the bar in 1817. Among the lawyers settling in Missouri was Timothy Davis, who came to Jackson, Missouri in 1818, where he lived for 18 months, later to relocate to St. Genevieve, Missouri. In 1818, his nephew, Greer W. Davis, who later became a prominent attorney on the Missouri circuit court, practicing law for 54 years. Timothy Davis (Massachusetts Politician)
Timothy Davis (April 12, 1821 – October 23, 1888) was a member of the United States House of Representatives from Massachusetts. Davis was born in Gloucester, Massachusetts and attended the public schools. He served two years in a printing office, engaged in mercantile pursuits in Boston. Political career Davis served as member of the Massachusetts House of Representatives in 1870 and 1871. He was elected as the candidate of the Know Nothing, American Party to the 34th United States Congress, Thirty-fourth Congress and as a Republican Party (United States), Republican to the 35th United States Congress, Thirty-fifth Congress (March 4, 1855 – March 3, 1859).
