Timothy Barnes (classicist)
Timothy David Barnes, (born 13 March 1942) is a British classicist. Biography Barnes was born in Yorkshire on 13 March 1942. He was educated at Queen Elizabeth Grammar School, Wakefield, until 1960, going up to Balliol College, Oxford, where he read Literae Humaniores, taking his BA in 1964 and MA in 1967. He was Harmsworth Senior Scholar of Merton College, Oxford, 1964–66 and Junior Research Fellow of The Queen's College, Oxford 1966–70. He was awarded his DPhil in 1970. In 1974 the University of Oxford conferred upon him the Conington prize. On receiving his doctorate he was immediately appointed assistant professor of Classics at University College, University of Toronto, and in 1972 he was appointed associate professor. Timothy John Radcliffe Barnes, 4th Baron Gorell (2 August 1927 – 25 September 2007) was a British businessman. Tim Barnes (politician)
Timothy Kent Barnes (born December 28, 1958) is a Democratic Party politician in Tennessee, who represented the 22nd district as State Senator from 2009 to 2013. Barnes ran unsuccessfully for the Tennessee House of Representatives in 2006. However, he is perhaps best known for his primary challenge of then-State Senator Rosalind Kurita in 2008. Kurita actually received slightly more votes (19) than Barnes during the actual election, but the Tennessee Democratic Executive Committee, due to crossover voting by Republicans (Tennessee law does not provide for voter registration by political party) ruled that Barnes had received more votes of actual Democrats and was declared the winner under party bylaws. As the Republicans had anticipated Kurita being the winner they did not nominate a candidate who would have been opposing her, had she won. Tim Barnes (born May 14, 1988) is a former American football center. He played college football at Missouri. Early years He attended Pettis County Northwest High school in Hughesville, Missouri where he earned numerous All-State, All-Conference and All-District honors. College career He played college football at Missouri. He was selected to the 2007 2nd-Team Academic All-Big 12. He was named 2009 Team Underclassmen Leadership Award. He was a key part of the Missouri Tigers offense that was ranked eighth nationally in total offense (averaging 484.14 yards per game), sixth in the NCAA in scoring offense (42.21 ppg), and fourth in the nation in passing offense (330.36 ypg). The Missouri Tigers offensive line was ranked 16th nationally in fewest quarterback sacks allowed (1.21 per game).
