Timofei Dokshizer
Timofei Aleksandrovich Dokschitzer (russian: Тимофей Александрович Докшицер, 13 December 1921, Nizhyn, Ukraine — 16 March 2005, Vilnius) was a Soviet Russian trumpeter, and a professor in Gnesins Musical College. He was the solo trumpeter of the Bolshoi Theater. He started to play when he was 10 years old. He finished the Central Musical School and Gnesins Musical College. In 1947 he won the International Competition in Prague. In 1957 he finished the Moscow State Conservatory. He became one of the outstanding trumpeters of the world, who proved that trumpet can be a solo instrument, as the violin or piano. He played both classical musical compositions and modern concertos by Alexander Arutiunian and others. Some of his records were re-issued on CD. His very distinctive style and sound was born out of a love of opera, and that operatic influence remained a permanent element of his playing. Nizhyn
Nizhyn ( uk, Ні́жин, Nizhyn, ) is a city located in Chernihiv Oblast of northern Ukraine along the Oster River. The city is located north-east of the national capital Kyiv. Nizhyn serves as the administrative center of Nizhyn Raion. Otto Sauter (born 1961) is a German trumpet soloist, who specializes in the piccolo trumpet . Biography From 1988 until 1998 Sauter was principal trumpet in the Bremen State Philharmonic Orchestra. In 1991 he founded the annual Bremen International Trumpet Festival, and, in 1994, the Bremen Trumpet Academy. In 1995 he played with the Philharmonia Orchestra (London) in the presence of HRH Prince Charles at St. James‘s Palace, in 2000 at the Vatican in St. Peter‘s Square for Pope John Paul II and in 2001 with the China National Symphony Orchestra conducted by Muhai Tang in the Forbidden City in Beijing. Bo Nilsson
Bo Nilsson (1 May 1937 – 25 June 2018) was a Swedish composer and lyricist. Career Bo Nilsson was born in Skellefteå, and first drew notice as a composer at the age of 18 when his ''Zwei Stücke'' (Two Pieces) for flute, bass clarinet, percussion, and piano were performed in a 1956 West German Radio (WDR) “Musik der Zeit” concert in Cologne. He had taught himself composition by listening to the radio, having previously had only basic training from a local music teacher and some experience as a jazz pianist. Though his early style owes much to Pierre Boulez and Karlheinz Stockhausen, it also displays a number of personal features: the use of bright percussion sounds behind finely wrought vocal or flute (usually alto flute) lines, a “nervous” fluttering of tonal nuances, and a feeling for miniature, calculated forms.
