Timmy Jernigan
Timothy Lenord Jernigan Jr. (born September 24, 1992) is a former American football defensive end. He was drafted by the Baltimore Ravens in the second round of the 2014 NFL Draft. He played college football at Florida State. High school career A native of Lake City, Florida, Jernigan attended Columbia High School, where he was an All-American defensive lineman and teammates with All-American offensive lineman Laremy Tunsil for his junior and senior year. As a junior, Jernigan registered 131 tackles, 27 tackles for loss, 12 sacks, three forced fumbles and three fumble recoveries and was a 3A All-State selection. In his senior season, he added 77 tackles, 32 tackles for loss, 14 sacks and one interception. In gridiron football, a sack occurs when the quarterback (or another offensive player acting as a passer) is tackled behind the line of scrimmage before throwing a forward pass, when the quarterback is tackled behind the line of scrimmage in the " pocket" and without clear intent, or when a passer runs out of bounds behind the line of scrimmage due to defensive pressure. Perry Walker High School in New Orleans, Johnson broke the Louisiana career quarterback sack record with 67.5 sacks. Defensive end (DE) is a defensive position in the sport of gridiron football. This position has designated the players at each end of the defensive line, but changes in formation (American football), formations over the years have substantially changed how the position is played.
