Timmy Houlihan
Timmy Houlihan (born 9 March 1982 in Adare, County Limerick) is an Irish sportsperson. He plays hurling with his local club Adare and was a member of the Limerick senior inter-county team at various times from 2001 until 2005. Playing career Club Houlihan plays his club hurling with his local club in Adare and has enjoyed much success. He came to prominence with the club as a member of the minor team in the late 1990s. He won a minor county title in 1998 following a victory over Croom. Houlihan added a second consecutive minor title to his collection in 1999 following a win over Patrickswell in the county final. He later joined the club's under-21 team and won a county title in that grade in 2000. Houlihan subsequently became a star goalkeeper on the club's senior team. Adare GAA
Adare GAA club is a Gaelic Athletic Association, GAA club based in Adare, County Limerick, Republic of Ireland. Adare have reached the Limerick Senior Hurling Championship, County Senior Hurling Final on 12 occasions. After losing the finals of 1968, 1986, 1990, 1993 and 1996, they finally won their first championship in 2001 and successfully defended it in 2002. In 2003, they narrowly missed out on winning three county titles in a row after losing out to Patrickswell GAA, Patrickswell in the final. The Munster GAA Hurling Senior Championship, known simply as the Munster Championship, is an annual Inter county, inter-county hurling competition organised by the Munster GAA, Munster Council of the Gaelic Athletic Association (GAA). Brian Murray (hurler)
Brian Murray (born 6 September 1984 in Patrickswell, County Limerick) is an Irish sportsperson. He plays hurling with his local club Patrickswell and was a member of the Limerick senior inter-county team from 2006 until 2009. Playing career Club Murray plays his club hurling with the famous Patrickswell club just outside Limerick city. He was born into a family that had a strong association with hurling. His father, Terence Murray, was also a member of the Patrickswell club and refereed the 1987 and 1993 All-Ireland Senior Hurling Championship finals between Galway and Kilkenny. After enjoying little success as minor or under-21 levels he subsequently joined the club's senior team. Joe Quaid
Joseph M. Quaid (born 10 April 1972) is an Irish hurling manager and former player. He was the manager of the Westmeath senior team in 2019. Born in Feohanagh, County Limerick, Quaid was introduced to hurling by his father, an All-Ireland medal winner with the Limerick junior team. At schools level he played with Newcastle West Vocational School, while simultaneously playing at juvenile and underage levels with Feohanagh. Eventually playing with the club's senior team, Quaid subsequently transferred to the Murroe-Boher club where he won one championship medal. Quaid made his debut on the inter-county scene when he first linked up with the Limerick minor team. He later joined the under-21 side but enjoyed little success in either of these grades. The National Hurling League is an annual Inter county, inter-county hurling competition featuring teams from Ireland and England. Founded in 1925 by the Gaelic Athletic Association, it operates on a system of promotion and relegation within the league system. The league has 35 teams divided into six divisions, with either five or six teams in each division. Promotion and relegation between these divisions is a central feature of the league.
