Christiaan Willem Anton Timmermans (born 6 December 1941) is a Dutch law professor and judge. He was a judge at the European Court of Justice between 2000 and 2010. Early life Timmermans was born in 1941 in Rotterdam. From 1953 to 1959 he attended the Sint Francisucscollege in Rotterdam. From 1959 to 1966 he studied law at Leiden University and specialized in private law. Career Timmermans pursued a career as law clerk in the European Court of Justice, working there between 1966 and 1969. He then worked as an official for the Commission of the European Communities between 1969 and 1977. In 1973 he obtained a Ph.D. in law at Leiden University; his doctoral thesis, titled ''De administratieve rechter en beoordelingsvrijheden van bestuursorganen: een rechtsvergelijkend onderzoek naar de controle van de administratieve rechter op de uitoefening van beoordelingsvrijheden van bestuursorganen in het nationale recht en het gemeenschapsrecht'' (''The administrative judge and freedoms of a ...

Leopold Maximiliaan Felix Timmermans (5 July 1886 – 24 January 1947) is a much translated author from Flanders. He was nominated for the Nobel Prize in Literature three times. Life Timmermans was born in the Belgian city of Lier, as the thirteenth of fourteen children. He died in Lier at age 60. He was an autodidact, and wrote plays, historical novels, religious works, and poems. His best-known book is ''Pallieter'' (1916). Timmermans also wrote under the pen-name ''Polleke van Mher''. He was a painter and drawer as well as an author. During the first years of the Second World War, Timmermans was editor of the Flemish nationalist ''Volk''. He also attended meetings of the ''Europäische Schriftsteller-Vereinigung'' (European Writers' League), which was initiated by Joseph Goebbels. Eimbert Timmermans (born 24 October 1961) is a retired Dutch sidecarcross rider and double World Champion. He has also won the Dutch national sidecarcross championship four times, in 1986, 1989, 1990, and 1992. All his successes were achieved with Eric Verhagen as his passenger. Biography After the end of his sidecarcross career in 1992, Eimbert Timmermans opened a transport company, Timtrans, whose director he is. He continues to be involved in motor sport, having taken part in the 2009 Dakar Rally as a mechanic in the truck category. Sidecarcross world championship results Eimbert Timmermans's first success as a sidecarcross rider came in 1986, when he took out the Dutch national championship, together with Eric Verhagen. This season was also his first in the sidecarcross world championship, where the team finished sixteen's, with two seventh place race finishes as their best results.
