Benedict College
Benedict College is a private historically black college in Columbia, South Carolina. Founded in 1870 by northern Baptists, it was originally a teachers' college. It has since expanded to offer majors in many disciplines across the liberal arts. The campus includes buildings in the Benedict College Historic District, a historic area listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Dreher Shoals Dam

Somerset Publishers, Inc., 1941. p. 377. or Saluda River Dam, officially the Dreher Shoals Dam, commonly referred to as the Lake Murray Dam, is an earthen embankment dam located approximately 10 miles (15 km) west of Columbia, South Carolina on the Saluda River. Construction on the dam began in 1927 and was completed in 1930. The purpose of the dam is flood control, hydroelectricity, recreation and water supply. At the time of its completion, the Saluda Dam was the world's largest earthen dam, creating the world's largest man-made lake, Lake Murray. Town Theatre

Fort Jackson (South Carolina)
Fort Jackson is a United States Army installation, which TRADOC operates on for Basic Combat Training (BCT), and is located within the city of Columbia, South Carolina. This installation is named for Andrew Jackson, a United States Army general and the seventh president of the United States (1829–1837) who was born in the border region of North and South Carolina. Palmetto Building
The Palmetto Building, built during 1912–1913, is an early skyscraper in Columbia, South Carolina. It was designed by architect Julius Harder, and Wilson and Sompayrac served as supervising architects. Upon completion it was the tallest building in South Carolina at and with 15 floors. The Palmetto Building was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1980. Since the mid-2000s, it has housed the Sheraton Columbia Downtown Hotel. Olympia Mill
Olympia Mill, also known as Pacific Mill, is a historic textile mill complex located at Columbia, South Carolina. It was built in 1899, and consists of a four-story, red brick, rectangular shaped, main mill building connected to a one and two-story red brick power plant. The main building is in the Romanesque Revival style and features terra cotta detailing, large segmental arched window openings, and twin pyramidal roofed towers. The complex also includes: a one-story brick power plant auxiliary building, a one-story storage building, and two small brick one-story gatehouses. The ''Columbia Record'' was an afternoon daily newspaper published in Columbia, South Carolina. It was established in 1897. International Paper & Power Co. purchased ''The Record'' in 1929 from R. Sidney Park Colored Methodist Episcopal Church, also known as Sidney Park Christian Methodist Episcopal Church, is a historic Methodist Episcopal church located at Columbia, South Carolina. It was built in 1893, and is a brick Late Gothic Revival style church. It features the only set of octagonal towers in Columbia; each is topped by an octagonal steeple. Prisma Health Richland Hospital is a hospital in Columbia, South Carolina that is part of Prisma Health. Prisma Health Richland hospital was originally established in 1892 as Columbia Hospital and was one of the first hospitals in the city. Over the years, with the growth of Columbia and the arrival of Fort Jackson, the hospital expanded. It outgrew its original location on Harden St. by the 1960s. Later renamed Richland Memorial Hospital it is moved in 1972 to its present location near the intersection of Bull St. and Harden St. Extension.
