Timber Bay
Timber Bay is a northern hamlet located in Northern Saskatchewan on the east side of Montreal Lake. It was once on the main highway leading north from Prince Albert, Saskatchewan. Now the main highway, Highway 2, is on the western side of the lake. Consequently, the community is accessible by a gravel road but is only 20 minutes by car from the community of Montreal Lake. In September 1951, the first school in the area was opened in an old log building that was next to a small store and garage owned by Henry Fornier. The first teacher was Bernard McIntyre. Students were from the families named Beatty, Fornier, Pruden and Lee. In 1952, a school was established at its present site. Northern Hamlet
In most cases in Saskatchewan, a Hamlet (place), hamlet is an unincorporated community with at least five occupied dwellings situated on separate lots and at least 10 separate lots, the majority of which are an average size of less than one acre. Saskatchewan has three different types of unincorporated hamlets including generic "hamlets", "special service areas" and "organized hamlets". The exception to unincorporated hamlets in Saskatchewan is a "northern hamlet", which is a type of incorporated municipality. Saskatchewan has 11 northern hamlets and 187 unincorporated hamlets including 20 generic hamlets, 23 special service areas and 144 organized hamlets. Montreal Lake (Saskatchewan)
Montreal Lake is a lake in the north-central part of Canadian province of Saskatchewan. It is the source of the Montreal River and is located between Highways 2 and 969. Prince Albert National Park is to the west and Clarence-Steepbank Lakes Provincial Park is to the east. Communities on the lake include Montreal Lake, Timber Bay, and Molanosa. Description Montreal Lakes's catchment includes the northern slopes of the Waskesiu Hills and the southern and eastern slopes of the Thunder Hills. Waskasiu River is the primary inflow. It enters the lake at its south-western shore and its drainage basin includes the aforementioned Waskesiu Hills, Waskesiu Lake, and Kingsmere Lake. Prince Albert, Saskatchewan
Prince Albert is the third-largest city in Saskatchewan, Canada, after Saskatoon and Regina. It is situated near the centre of the province on the banks of the North Saskatchewan River. The city is known as the "Gateway to the North" because it is the last major centre along the route to the resources of northern Saskatchewan. Prince Albert National Park is located north of the city and contains a wealth of lakes, forest, and wildlife. Saskatchewan Highway 2
Highway 2 is a provincial highway in the Canadian province of Saskatchewan. It is the longest highway in Saskatchewan at 809 km (503 mi). The highway is partially divided and undivided. However, only about near Moose Jaw, near Chamberlain, and near Prince Albert are divided highway. Highway 2 is a major north-south route beginning at the Canada–US border at the Port of West Poplar River and Opheim, Montana customs checkpoints. Montana Highway 24 continues south. It passes through the major cities of Moose Jaw in the south and Prince Albert in the north. Highway 2 overlaps Highway 11 between the towns of Chamberlain and Findlater. 2021 Canadian Census
The 2021 Canadian census was a detailed enumeration of the Canadian population with a reference date of May 11, 2021. It follows the 2016 Canadian census, which recorded a population of 35,151,728. The overall response rate was 98%, which is slightly lower than the response rate for the 2016 census. It recorded a population of 36,991,981, a 5.2% increase from 2016. Planning Consultation on census program content was from September 11 to December 8, 2017. The census was conducted by Statistics Canada, and was contactless as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic in Canada. The agency had considered delaying the census until 2022. About 900 supervisors and 31,000 field enumerators were hired to conduct the door-to-door survey of individuals and households who had not completed the census questionnaire by late May or early June.
