Tim Wheeler
Timothy James Arthur Wheeler (born 4 January 1977) is an Irish singer, songwriter and musician from Northern Ireland. He is the lead vocalist and guitarist of the alternative rock band Ash (band), Ash. He has written nearly all of Ash's notable works, such as "Oh Yeah (Ash song), Oh Yeah", "Shining Light", "Girl from Mars", "Kung Fu (Ash song), Kung Fu", and "Goldfinger (Ash song), Goldfinger". In November 2014, he released his debut solo album ''Lost Domain (album), Lost Domain''. Early life Timothy James Arthur Wheeler was born in Downpatrick on 4 January 1977, the son of Rosalind E. M. (née Dickson), the daughter of a Danske Bank (Northern Ireland), Northern Bank manager, and George Bomfforde Wheeler (1932–2011), a solicitor and later judge. He is a great-great-grandson of Rev. ''Lost Domain'' is the debut studio album by Irish musician Tim Wheeler, following his collaboration album with Emmy the Great, ''This Is Christmas'' (2011). ''Lost Domain'' was released on 7 November 2014 through Sony RED. Background and recording As a member of Ash, frontman Tim Wheeler released several top ten-charting albums, including the number ones ''1977'' (1996) and '' Free All Angels'' (2001). In 2008, Tim Wheeler's father George Wheeler started suffering from Alzheimer's disease. After two years, he was admitted to a dementia ward; Tim Wheeler would spend the next six months travelling across the Atlantic Ocean to visit his father. Downpatrick
Downpatrick () is a town in County Down, Northern Ireland. It is on the Lecale peninsula, about south of Belfast. In the Middle Ages, it was the capital of the Dál Fiatach, the main ruling dynasty of Ulaid. Down Cathedral, Its cathedral is said to be the burial place of Saint Patrick. Arthur Baker (born April 22, 1955) is an American record producer and DJ best known for his work with hip hop artists like Afrika Bambaataa and Planet Patrol, as well as British group New Order. He is also known for remixing the Jill Jones song "Mia Bocca" on the 12" single, taken from her self-titled debut album '' Jill Jones'' (1987), released on Prince's Paisley Park Records, as well as remixing the Pet Shop Boys song, " In the Night". "Do They Know It's Christmas?" is a charity song written in 1984 by Bob Geldof and Midge Ure to raise money for the 1983–1985 famine in Ethiopia. It was first recorded by Band Aid, a supergroup assembled by Geldof and Ure consisting of popular British and Irish musical acts. It was recorded in a single day at Sarm West Studios in Notting Hill, London, in November 1984. "Do They Know It's Christmas?" was released in the UK on 7 December 1984. It entered the UK singles chart at number one, where it remained for five weeks, becoming Christmas number one. It sold a million copies in the first week, making it the fastest-selling single in UK chart history until Elton John's " Candle in the Wind 1997". Band Aid 20 was the 2004 incarnation of the charity supergroup Band Aid. The group, which included Daniel Bedingfield, Dido, Justin Hawkins of The Darkness, Thom Yorke and Jonny Greenwood of Radiohead, Chris Martin of Coldplay, Bono of U2, and Paul McCartney, re-recorded the 1984 song "Do They Know It's Christmas?", written by Band Aid organisers Bob Geldof and Midge Ure. Recording The song was recorded on 14 November 2004, to benefit Sudan's troubled Darfur region, and was released that same month. Robert Frederick Zenon Geldof (; born 5 October 1951) is an Irish singer-songwriter and political activist. He rose to prominence in the late 1970s as the lead singer of the Irish rock band the Boomtown Rats, who achieved popularity as part of the punk rock movement. The Rentals
The Rentals is an American rock band fronted by vocalist Matt Sharp. Sharp has been the only consistent member since the group's inception. The band's best selling single is "Friends of P." (1995).
