Tim Ward (American Football)
Tim Ward (born August 11, 1997) is an American football outside linebacker for the DC Defenders of the United Football League (UFL). He played college football for Old Dominion. College career Ward was a member of the Old Dominion Monarchs for four seasons. He finished his collegiate career with 125 tackles, 30.5 tackles for loss, 14 sacks and eight passes broken up in 47 games played. Professional career Kansas City Chiefs Ward was signed by the Kansas City Chiefs as an undrafted free agent on May 3, 2019. He spent his rookie season on the non-football injury list. Ward was cut at the end of training camp in 2020, but was re-signed to the Chiefs' practice squad shortly afterwards. He was signed to Kansas City's active roster on November 12, 2020. Ward made his NFL debut in Week 17 of the 2020 season against the Los Angeles Chargers, starting the game and finishing with five tackles, including his first career sack, in a 21–38 loss. The United Football League (UFL) is a professional American football minor league scheduled to start play in March 2024. The league was created following the merger of the XFL and USFL. Background In 2017, Vince McMahon, who had previously launched the XFL in 2001 as a partnership with NBC Sports, registered a trademark for the United Football League name. 2024 UFL Dispersal Draft
The 2024 UFL dispersal draft was the player selection process to fill the rosters of the eight teams for the 2024 UFL season and disperse the rosters from the eight teams from its component conferences, the XFL and USFL, that were not retained in the merger. Process Following the merger of five teams of the XFL and three teams of the USFL into the United Football League (UFL) the UFL announced plans for a dispersal draft for XFL and USFL players on teams that were not joining the UFL. The United States Football League (USFL) is a professional American football minor league that began play on April 16, 2022. The inaugural 2022 regular season was played in its entirety in Birmingham, Alabama. The postseason games were played in Canton, Ohio, at the Tom Benson Hall of Fame Stadium. The league is currently owned by National Spring Football League Enterprises Co, LLC, a joint venture between founder Brian Woods and Fox Corporation's sports unit, Fox Sports in the United States.
