Tim Ten Yen
Tim Ten Yen, also known as "TTY", is an English recording artist. He has been called the "Sensational Singing Salaryman". He was championed by the English disc jockey Steve Lamacq as a "cult figure of the future". He grew up outside London. His music has been called "devoid of pretention but full of original eccentricity" while the post-punk musician Paul Hawkins has lauded his writing "joyous, catchy and indescribably wonderful songs that are simultaneously utterly universal and entirely unique". His debut album ''Everything Beautiful Reminds Me of You'' was released by Pointy Records in late 2008. That same year saw the release of an EP ''Runaround Get Around'' on the Club Fandango label. ''Flux'' was a short-lived magazine in the mid-1990s which focused on music (mostly hard rock and hip-hop), comic books and video games. History and profile The magazine was bi-monthly and lasted for seven issues. The headquarters was in New York City and the publisher was Harris Publications. It was presented as an edgier alternative to magazines such as '' EGM'' and '' GamePro''. Reading Festival
The Reading and Leeds Festivals are a pair of annual music festivals that take place in Reading and Leeds in England. The events take place simultaneously on the Friday, Saturday and Sunday of the August bank holiday weekend. The Reading Festival is held at Little John's Farm on Richfield Avenue in central Reading, near Caversham Bridge. The Leeds event is held in Bramham Park, near Wetherby, the grounds of a historic house. Jim Bob
James Robert Morrison, known as Jim Bob, is a British musician and author. He was the singer of indie punk band Carter the Unstoppable Sex Machine. Biography Jim Bob played in various bands during the late 1970s and early 1980s, including Jamie Wednesday, who were performing between 1984 and 1987. In 1987 Jamie Wednesday split up just before a gig at the London Astoria. Morrison and Les "Fruitbat" Carter filled in, playing along to a backing tape, and Carter USM was born. Jim Bob and Les Carter had known each other since the late 1970s, when their bands The Ballpoints (featuring Jim on vocals) and Dead Clergy (Les on bass and vocals) used to rehearse at the same studio behind Streatham station. Carter the Unstoppable Sex Machine (also known as Carter USM or simply Carter) were an English indie rock band formed in 1987 by singer Jim "Jim Bob" Morrison and guitarist Les "Fruitbat" Carter. Club Fandango
Club Fandango is a live music promotions company based in Highbury, London. It was started in 2001, by Simon Williams and Andy MacLeod. The former runs Fierce Panda records, the latter the Pointy Records label. Williams and MacLeod had previously promoted nights such as Club Spangle!, NME "On" nights, Club Pointy and Club Panda. Initially promoting every Tuesday night at the Dublin Castle, Camden, Club Fandango soon expanded to regularly put on gigs in other north London venues such as Camden Barfly. Paul Hawkins (musician)
Paul Hawkins is a London-based author and singer-songwriter who grew up near Bristol and has been a key figure in London's antifolk scene. He regularly records in collaboration with Death in Vegas and Dot Allison guitarist Ian Button (also formerly of the Thrashing Doves) and a 6-piece band under the name of Paul Hawkins & The Awkward Silences. Hawkins has also worked with the artist Alex Templeton-Ward, utilising his bass and synth work both live and on record.
