Tim Roye
Timothy James Roye is an American radio play-by-play announcer for the NBA's Golden State Warriors. Prior to joining the Warriors, he had worked in radio in Utica, Birmingham, Phoenix, and Sacramento, with occupations from play-by-play announcing to hosting radio shows and being a sports radio director. He has been calling Warrior games for over 20 seasons and is currently heard on 95.7 The Game, an FM station in the San Francisco Bay Area. Early life and education Roye is a native of Chula Vista, California. He attended Utica College in New York and graduated with a bachelor's degree in public relations and journalism in 1981. While in college, in 1978, Roye started as the sports director for Utica's WIBX/ WNYZ. As sports director, he hosted sports talk shows, did play-by-play for area sports, and called the Utica Boilermaker Road Race. He held this position until 1986. Play-by-play
In sports broadcasting, a sports commentator (also known as sports announcer or sportscaster) provides a real-time commentary of a game or event, usually during a live broadcast, traditionally delivered in the historical present tense. Radio was the first medium for sports broadcasts, and radio commentators must describe all aspects of the action to listeners who cannot see it for themselves. In the case of televised sports coverage, commentators are usually presented as a voiceover, with images of the contest shown on viewers' screens and sounds of the action and spectators heard in the background. Jason Richardson
Jason Anthoney Richardson (born January 20, 1981) is an American former professional basketball player who played 14 seasons in the National Basketball Association (NBA). Richardson was taken by the Golden State Warriors as the fifth overall pick in the 2001 NBA draft after playing college basketball for Michigan State University. Posterized
Posterized is North American slang derived from an action in the game of basketball, in which the offensive player " dunks" over a defending player in a play that is spectacular and athletic enough to warrant reproduction in a printed poster. The term was originated from Julius Erving, whose high-flying style of play inspired the term. Posterized is also used infrequently to describe similar events in other sports, and it has made its way into business writing. KTCT (1050 kHz) is a commercial AM radio station licensed to San Mateo, California, and serving the San Francisco Bay Area. It is owned by Cumulus Media and airs a sports radio format as KNBR 1050, a sister station to KNBR and KNBR-FM. The Sacramento Gold Miners were a Canadian football team based in Sacramento, California. The franchise was the first American team in the Canadian Football League. KFBK (1530 kHz) is a commercial AM radio station in Sacramento, California. It is simulcast on KFBK-FM 93.1 MHz. KFBK-AM-FM air a news-talk radio format and are owned by iHeartMedia, Inc. The studios and offices are on River Park Drive in North Sacramento, near the Arden Fair Mall. KFBK 1530 is a Class A radio station.
