Tim Harrington (footballer)
Tim Harrington (born 19 September 1963) is a former Australian rules footballer who played with North Melbourne Football Club, North Melbourne, Collingwood Football Club, Collingwood and Western Bulldogs, Footscray in the Australian Football League, Victorian/Australian Football League (VFL/AFL). A defender, used mostly as a full-back, Harrington came to North Melbourne from Oak Park Football Club, Oak Park. He played 20 games over three seasons with North Melbourne and then ended his career with stints at Collingwood and Footscray. Footscray hired him as an assistant coach in 1992 and he remained with the club for three years. From 1995 to 2001 he was an assistant coach to Denis Pagan at North Melbourne, during which time they won two premierships. He was then North Melbourne's Football Manager for five years. Oak Park Football Club
The Essendon District Football League (EDFL) is a professional Australian rules football league competition based in Essendon, Victoria, consisting of teams based in the north-west suburbs of Melbourne. Founded in 1930, the men's competition consists of three leagues: Premier Division, Division 1 and Division 2, with 10 clubs in the Premier Division and Division 1 nine in Division 2. Promotion and relegation between these divisions occurs, with the lowest-placed clubs in the Premier Division and Division 1 being relegated at the end of each season. Clubs which win the Division 1 and Division 2 premierships are automatically promoted. Each men's team also fields a reserves side and an under-19 side that play a fixture mirroring that of the senior side. 1988 VFL Draft
The 1988 VFL draft, held on the 9th of November 1988, was the third annual national draft held by the VFL/AFL, Victorian Football League (now known as the Australian Football League). It consisted of a pre-season draft and a national draft. In 1988 there were 112 picks to be drafted between 14 teams in the national draft. North Melbourne Football Club
The North Melbourne Football Club, nicknamed the Kangaroos, is a professional Australian rules football club. The men's team competes in the Australian Football League (AFL), and the women's team in the AFL Women's (AFLW). The Kangaroos also field a reserves men's team in the Victorian Football League (VFL). Australian football, also called Australian rules football or Aussie rules, or more simply football or footy, is a contact sport played between two teams of 18 players on an oval field, often a modified cricket ground. Denis Leslie Pagan (born 24 September 1947) is a former Australian rules football coach and player in the VFL/AFL. Pagan is a dual AFL premiership coach, and he also won the prestigious Victoria derby in 2020 as a trainer and owner of the horse “Johnny Get Angry.” This victory made him the first Australian sports figure to win an AFL premiership as a coach and train a group 1 horse race winner.
