Tilt (arcade)
Tilt, also known as Tilt Studio or Tilt Arcade, is a chain of Amusement arcade, video arcades once found inside various Shopping mall, shopping malls across the United States. Tilt is owned by Nickels and Dimes Incorporated (NDI), founded in Carrollton, Texas and currently headquartered in Celina, Texas. The first Tilt game room was in the Six Flags Mall in 1972. It was founded by Craig Singer. At its peak, the chain had roughly 200 locations from Hawaii to New York (state), New York, and three in New South Wales, Australia (Manly Fun Pier at Manly Wharf, Westfield Miranda, and Westfield Mt Druitt in Sydney). The original Tilt arcades remain in decline; while there were still 30 Tilt locations in 2016, at the end of 2019, just "over 15" remained open. As of February 2021, only 5 Tilt locations remain. Six Flags Mall
Six Flags Mall was a shopping mall that opened in August 1970 in Arlington, Texas. Arlington's first enclosed shopping center, it was named after the nearby Six Flags Over Texas theme park. When it opened, it was the largest shopping center in Tarrant County and the area's first regional shopping facility. A new owner acquired roughly one-third of the mall in December 2012 and announced plans to redevelop it as a Hispanic-oriented shopping mall called "Plaza Central" and, after resolving legal issues, reopened in October 2014, but closed again in February 2016. Demolition began in summer of 2016, but was slowed by a lawsuit filed by Cinemark. Two separate two-alarm fires occurred on February 6 and March 2 during demolition.
