Tile Ridge
Tile Ridge (''Rid Tile'' ) is a partly ice-free ridge of elevation 240 m in Dryanovo Heights, Greenwich Island in the South Shetland Islands, Antarctica. The ridge is named after the ancient Tile (Tylis), capital town of the Celtic Kingdom in Thrace, 279–213 BC, and ancestor of the present Bulgarian settlement of Tulovo near Stara Zagora City. Location The ridge is located at , which is 2.3 km east-southeast of Lloyd Hill, 2.55 km north of Triangle Point, and 2.37 km west of Malamir Knoll (Bulgarian topographic survey Tangra 2004/05 and mapping in 2009). Composite Antarctic Gazetteer
The Composite Gazetteer of Antarctica (CGA) of the Scientific Committee on Antarctic Research (SCAR) is the authoritative international gazetteer containing all Antarctic toponyms published in national gazetteers, plus basic information about those names and the relevant geographical features. Bulgarian toponyms in Antarctica are approved by the Antarctic Place-names Commission in compliance with its ''Toponymic Guidelines'', and formally given by the President of the Republic according to the Bulgarian Constitution and the established international and Bulgarian practice. Place naming is confined to nameless geographic features situated in the Antarctic Treaty area, the region south of the parallel 60 degrees south latitude. Details of the Bulgarian Antarctic toponyms are published by the websites of the commission and the international Composite Gazetteer of Antarctica maintained by the Scientific Committee on Antarctic Research (SCAR). Malamir Knoll
Malamir Knoll (Malamirova Mogila \ma-la-'mi-ro-va mo-'gi-la\) rises to 200 m in the southeast extremity of the Dryanovo Heights, Greenwich Island in the South Shetland Islands, Antarctica. It has precipitous and ice-free southwest slopes and was named after the Bulgarian ruler Khan Malamir, 831-836 AD. Triangle Point
Triangle Point is the low ice-free tipped point forming the northwest side of the entrance to Shopski Cove in the south coast of Parvomay Neck linking the northwest and southeast parts of Greenwich Island in the South Shetland Islands, Antarctica. The area was frequented by early 19th century sealers operating from Yankee Harbour. The feature was charted and descriptively named by the Discovery Investigations in 1935. Lloyd Hill
Lloyd Hill is an ice-covered hill rising to 335 m in the southwest of Dryanovo Heights, Greenwich Island in the South Shetland Islands, Antarctica. The hill surmounts Teteven Glacier to the north and Murgash Glacier to the southeast. The name derives from 'Lloyd's Land', an early name for Greenwich Island. Stara Zagora
Stara Zagora ( bg, Стара Загора, ) is the sixth-largest city in Bulgaria, and the administrative capital of the homonymous Stara Zagora Province.
