Tilak Ram Sharma
Tilak Ram Sharma ( ne, तिलक राम शर्मा; born 8 June 1968) is a Nepali politician who has served as a member of the Lumbini Provincial Assembly since 2017. A member of the Communist Party of Nepal (Maoist Centre), he represents the Bardiya 1(B) constituency. Since 2021, Sharma has also been the provincial Minister of Internal Affairs and Communications. Sharma was elected to the provincial assembly following the 2017 Nepalese provincial elections. He defeated Nepali Congress candidate Mangal Prasad Tharu, receiving 23,392 votes compared to Tharu's 20,841. Lumbini Province ( ne, लुम्बिनी प्रदेश, Lumbinī pradēśa) is a province in western Nepal. It borders Gandaki Province and Karnali Province to the north, Sudurpashchim Province to the west, Uttar Pradesh and Bihar of India to the south. Lumbini is the third largest and the third most populous province among the Nepali provinces. The Vimala Temple or Bimala Temple is a Hindu temple dedicated to goddess Vimala or Bimala (ବିମଳା), located within the Jagannath Temple complex in Puri in the Indian state of Odisha. It is generally regarded as a Shakti Pitha, among the holiest temples dedicated to the Hindu Goddess. In 2007 Nepal repealed the laws against gay sex and introduced several laws which explicitly protected sexual orientation. The Nepalese Constitution now recognizes LGBT rights as fundamental rights. Based on a ruling of the Supreme Court of Nepal in late 2007, the government was also considering the legalization of same-sex marriage. According to several sources, the Constitution of 2015 was expected to include it. 2017 Nepalese Provincial Elections
Provincial assembly elections were held in Nepal on 26 November and 7 December 2017 along with the general election. 330 seats in the seven newly created provincial assemblies were elected by first-past-the-post voting and 220 by proportional representation. The election was part of Nepal's transformation to a federal republic. Next Election will be held in 2022 unless dissolved earlier without completing the five years term. 2022 Nepalese provincial election will be the second election for provinces after completion of tenure of five years.
