Tika And The Dissidents
Tika & the Dissidents is an Indonesian band whose music includes elements from jazz, blues, tango, waltz to punk. History Jakarta-born singer Kartika Jahja first released her own solo albums titled Frozen Love Songs (2005) and ''Defrosted Love Songs'' (2006) under Aksara Records. She then recruited Luky Annash ( piano), Susan Agiwitanto (bass), Okky Rahman Oktavian (drums), and Panji Gustiano ( guitar) to be her backup band. Along the way, the band became a significant part of the song-writing process. In 2009, they first declared themselves as Tika and the Dissidents in the original soundtrack album of Joko Anwar’s film ''Pintu Terlarang''. In the same year, the band parted ways with guitar player Panji Gustiano. A few months later they welcomed Iga Massardi as the newest member of the Dissidents. Joko Anwar (born 3 January 1976) is an Indonesian film director, producer, screenwriter, and actor. Prior to becoming a filmmaker, he worked as a journalist and film critic. The piano is a stringed keyboard instrument in which the strings are struck by wooden hammers that are coated with a softer material (modern hammers are covered with dense wool felt; some early pianos used leather). Aksara Records
Aksara Records was a Jakarta-based independent record label, founded in 2004 by Hanindhito Siddharta and David Tarigan. Its logo was a cartooned crow holding a beamed notes in its mouth. The label name came from Indonesian word "aksara" which in English means "alphabet". Aksara Records is one of the largest independent music label in Indonesia. This record label was shut down by the owners, due to financial problems in 2009. All the remaining Mastered records in the label were given to the artists.
