Tignish-Palmer Road is a provincial electoral district for the Legislative Assembly of Prince Edward Island, Canada. It was formerly Tignish-DeBlois from 1996 to 2007. 2011 Prince Edward Island General Election
The 2011 Prince Edward Island general election was held on October 3, 2011. The Liberal government of Premier Robert Ghiz was elected to a second majority government, winning one seat less than they did in 2007. Ghiz himself considered 18 seats to be a marker for a strong majority. He won 22. Health care was an important issue during the election, especially in rural areas. The Progressive Conservatives retained their position as Official Opposition, winning five seats. Olive Crane used the issue of the Provincial Nominee Program during the election, as well as issues surrounding immigration and investments that came under investigation by the Royal Canadian Mounted Police and Federal Minister Jason Kenney during the election. Miminegash
Miminegash is a rural municipality in Prince Edward Island, Canada. It is located northwest of Alberton and southwest of Tignish. It is part of a small area in Lot 3 known as either the ''St. Louis'', '' Palmer Road'', or ''Miminegash'' area. This area is often associated with Tignish due to the shared Acadian roots between these areas. Demographics In the 2021 Census of Population conducted by Statistics Canada, Miminegash had a population of living in of its total private dwellings, a change of from its 2016 population of . With a land area of , it had a population density of in 2021. Community Miminegash is within of the following communities, known collectively as the ''St. Louis–Miminegash'' area. Ascension (also known as Pigbrook) is a small community located mainly on Route 160 from 3 miles NE of Tignish. Ascension is within the Canadian province of Prince Edward Island, in Eastern Canada. Harper, Prince Edward Island
Harper (sometimes referred to collectively as Harper Road) is a Canadian rural community located in western Prince County, Prince Edward Island. Among other roads, Harper is located on Route 158, which runs from Route 2 (Tignish) to Route 156 ( Palmer Road). The second community on Route 158 is Leoville, which continues to officially exist, although a 1998 civic address reform in Prince Edward Island saw all Leoville addresses consolidated under Harper. Many locals refer to Harper and Leoville as "Harper Road" collectively. Harper is home to ''Harper's Brook'', a tributary to the ''Tignish River'', which runs from Tignish to DeBlois. Leoville (sometimes known collectively as Harper Road) is a Canadian rural community located on Route 158, 3.50–5.00 miles SW of Tignish in western Prince County, Prince Edward Island.
