Tigertrap Records
Tigertrap Records is a London-based record label, which was set up in late 2005 by Drowned In Sound writers Tom Edwards and Adie Nunn. The label released a series of singles through 2006, concentrating on unbroken talent. During this time, former Warp Records employee Gill Barker joined to manage the label's business affairs. Their first single, 586's ''We Got Bored'' became a sizeable indie club hit and NME awarded it 'Runner Up Single Of The Week' in May '06. The second release was ''Lowlife'' by Scanners, which went on to be featured in a Jeff Bridges film, ''Mama's Boy''. The band released their debut album on Dim Mak (home to Bloc Party, The Rakes, etc.). Later that year their Brooklyn-based pre-teen brother/sister duo Tiny Masters Of Today were featured in Newsweek and on the covers of Artrocker magazine and New York Times. The Jon Spencer Blues Explosion
The Jon Spencer Blues Explosion was an American three-piece rock band from New York City, formed in 1991. The group consisted of Judah Bauer on guitar, backing vocals, harmonica and occasional lead vocals, Russell Simins on drums and Jon Spencer on vocals, guitar and theremin. Their musical style is largely rooted in rock and roll although it draws influences from punk, blues, garage, rockabilly, soul, noise rock, rhythm and blues and hip hop. They released nine official studio albums, collaborative records with Dub Narcotic Sound System and R.L. Burnside as well as numerous live, singles, out-take albums, compilations, remix albums and, in 2010, a series of expanded reissues. Mock Orange is an American indie rock band from Evansville, Indiana, United States. They debuted in 1998 during a growing emo and punk musical climate. Though they never reached the commercial success of some of their contemporaries, they are widely respected as a prolific group with a unique sound. Overview Mock Orange first introduced their sound in 1998 with “Nines & Sixes.” The record immediately established Mock Orange on the national scene and received critical acclaim in the press along with a spot on the CMJ Top 60 college radio charts. In 2000, the band followed up with “The Record Play.” Produced by Mark Trombino (Pinback, Jimmy Eat World), the record continued to earn Mock Orange a legion of fans. Look See Proof were a five-piece indie pop-rock band from Hertfordshire. Founded in 2006, Look See Proof played in venues across the UK supporting bands like The Fratellis, The Rifles, Foals, The Dykeenies, Breaks Co-Op, Good Shoes, The Twang, and The Holloways. High-profile appearances include playing Club NME at KOKO, Glastonbury Festival, Camden Crawl, The Great Escape Festival and Guilfest. The band released two singles on Tigertrap Records ('Tell Me Tell Me Tell Me'/'Start Again' and 'Discussions'/'Singles The New Together') and were asked to perform live for Steve Lamacq's show on Radio 1 at Maida Vale. It Hugs Back (stylized as it hugs back) is an English indie rock and dream pop band featuring Wire guitarist Matthew Simms. History Schoolmates guitarist Matthew Simms and bassist Paul Michael formed their first band at age twelve. Keyboardist/guitarist Jack Theedom and drummer Will Blackaby joined the band after all four graduated from university. Their debut album, ''Inside Your Guitar'', was released in 2009 on 4AD.
