Friedrich Tiedemann Fellow of the Royal Society, FRS HFRSE (23 August 178122 January 1861) was a German anatomist and physiologist. He was an expert on the anatomy of the brain. Tiedemann spent most of his life as professor of anatomy and physiology at Heidelberg, a position to which he was appointed in 1816, after having filled the chair of anatomy and zoology for ten years at Landshut, and died at Munich. He was elected member of the Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences in 1827. In 1836, he was elected Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons, Honorary Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland. Pyotr Genrikhovich Tiedemann (Петр Генрихович Тидеманн; 14 October 1872 – 25 June 1941) was a Russian nobleman and diplomat who served mainly in China. Tiedemann was born on 14 October 1872 in Kazan, the son of Genrikh Ottonovich Tiedemann (1839–1889), a nobleman of German Lutheran origin and an Active State Councillor, and Tat’iana Petrovna (née Savel’eva, died 1877), the daughter of a Russian Orthodox doctor. Tariq Leni "Ricky" Tiedemann (born August 18, 2002) is an American professional baseball pitcher in the Toronto Blue Jays organization. He is ranked first on Major League Baseball's 2023 Top 30 Blue Jays prospects list, and 31st overall on the 2022 Top 100 MLB prospects list. Tiedemann Giese (1 June 1480 – 23 October 1550), was Bishop of Kulm (Chełmno) first canon, later Prince-Bishop of Warmia (Ermland). His interest in mathematics, astronomy, and theology led him to mentor a number of important young scholars, including Copernicus. He was a prolific writer and correspondent, publishing a number of works on the reformation of the church. Tiedemann was a member of the patrician Giese family of Danzig (Gdańsk) in Poland.
