Tidemann Flaata Evensen
Tidemann Flaata Evensen (11 July 1905 – 16 September 1969) was a Norwegian politician for the Labour Party. He was elected to the Norwegian Parliament from Telemark in 1945, and was re-elected on one occasion. Evensen was born in Solum and was a member of Solum municipal council A municipal council is the legislative body of a municipality or local government area. Storting
The Storting ( no, Stortinget ) (lit. the Great Thing) is the supreme legislature of Norway, established in 1814 by the Constitution of Norway. It is located in Oslo. The unicameral parliament has 169 members and is elected every four years based on party-list proportional representation in nineteen multi-seat constituencies. A member of Stortinget is known in Norwegian as a ''stortingsrepresentant'', literally "Storting representative". The assembly is led by a president and, since 2009, five vice presidents: the presidium. The members are allocated to twelve standing committees as well as four procedural committees. Telemark
Telemark is a traditional region, a former county, and a current electoral district in southern Norway. In 2020, Telemark merged with the former county of Vestfold to form the county of Vestfold og Telemark. Telemark borders the traditional regions and former counties of Vestfold, Buskerud, Hordaland, Rogaland and Aust-Agder. The name ''Telemark'' means the "mark of the Thelir", the ancient North Germanic tribe that inhabited what is now known as Upper Telemark in the Migration Period and the Viking Age. In the Middle Ages, the agricultural society of Upper Telemark was considered the most violent region of Norway. Today, half of the buildings from medieval times in Norway are located here. Solum, Norway
Solum is a former municipality in Telemark county, Norway. The parish of Solum was established as a municipality January 1, 1838 (see formannskapsdistrikt). According to the 1835 census the municipality had a population of 3,557. Solum is located west of the city Skien, and encompassed districts such as Nenset, Tollnes, Flakvarp, Skotfoss, and Klyve. On 1 July 1916 an area with 1,042 inhabitants was moved to Skien, and on 1 July 1920 an area with 1,614 inhabitants was moved to Porsgrunn. On 1 January 1964 the rest of Solum was incorporated into Skien, along with Gjerpen and Valebø district. Prior to the merger Solum had a population of 13,706. Kornelius Bergsvik
Kornelius Olai Person Bergsvik (18 March 1889 – 2 May 1975) was a Norwegian politician for the Labour Party, born in Austrheim, Hordaland. Bergsvik represented Hordaland in the Norwegian Parliament from 1928 to 1945. In 1936 he was appointed to the Nygaardsvold Cabinet. Bergsvik served as Minister of Social Affairs 1935–1936, and Minister of Finance 1936–1939. Leif Hjørnevik
Leif Hjørnevik (1910–1973) was a Norwegian civil servant and politician. He served as the County Governor of Telemark county from December 1969 until his death in 1973. Leif Hjørnevik received his Cand.jur. degree in 1936. He then became a solicitor before starting his own legal practice. From 1939 to 1941 he was a deputy judge. He was employed in the Ministry of Finance, the Ministry of the Interior, and the Ministry of Justice during the Second World War. In 1945, he got a job as a manager in the Nordland county government. The following year, he moved to Larvik where be became the leader of the county government there, a position he held until 1959. This was followed by ten years as the finance manager in Trondheim.
