Tibor Bodor
Tibor Bodor (11 February 1921 – 20 July 2000) was a Hungarian actor. Biography Bodor was born in Kiskunhalas. After finishing his studies at Academy of Drama and Film in Budapest, he worked for the Theatre of the Town in Szeged. In 1942 he moved to Miskolc. He was a prisoner of war, but he continued the performances. He played at National Theatre of Pécs from 1948, at Madách Theatre from 1949. After 1956 he worked at National Theatre. He was a very well-recognised recitator. He taught it at his alma mater in 1951–1952 and after 1957. He played at television series as well. The National Theatre, located in Budapest originally opened in 1837. ''Szomszédok'' (''Neighbours'') was a Hungarian television series that ran between 1987–1999 and produced 331 episodes, airing its grand finale on December 31, 1999. The series aired on state-owned broadcaster Magyar Televízió (Hungarian Television) bi-weekly in primetime, on Thursday evenings, during its entire run. It was considered to be a popular series, in 1998 almost 1 million viewers tuned in every month. However, it started losing its popularity at the end of the decade to more versatile programming of foreign television series in other channels and was subsequently ended in 1999. Kiskunhalas (; german: Hallasch) is a city in the county of Bács-Kiskun, Hungary. Railroad The city is an important railway junction. It crosses the Budapest-Subotica-Belgrade railway line. The National Theatre of Pécs is the main theatre of Pécs, Hungary. History Theatrical plays became a regular attraction in the city from the beginning of the 19th century in German and Hungarian language. Most often they were arranged in larger dancing halls, inns, the small stage of Tettye or the Elefánt-house Inn. While being continuously planned from 1815 onwards, the first theatre opened only in 1840 in the Mária street. Demolished in 1890, only a sketch of the facade remained from this building. To meet the demand for a high-quality structure, the city council set up a committee, led by mayor János Aidinger to coordinate the planning.
