Tiago Filipe dos Santos Pires (born 2 January 1987) is a Portuguese professional footballer who plays as a defender. Club career Italy Born in Lisbon, Pires spent ten years at the Sporting Clube de Portugal academy, but could never represent the club as a senior. He signed with Italian side Genoa C.F.C. in the 2006 summer, but was limited to reserve team football during his spell, also being loaned to AC Lugano in the Swiss Challenge League along with Alessandro Di Maio, Rivaldo González and Diogo Tavares and to Potenza S.C. alongside José Mamede. Tata Tiago is a city car made by Tata Motors in India since 2016. It is derived from the Tata Kite project. The Tiago was previously announced as the Tata Zica, with "Zica" short for "zippy car", but it was changed because the launch of the car coincide with the outbreak of Zika virus. Tiago, a common Portuguese masculine name, was picked from suggestions solicited online. History Tata Tiago was born as the successor of the previous Tata Bolt, which was nothing but a heavy restyling of Tata Indica Vista. Like the Indica Vista, even the Bolt did not get the desired success and Tata began designing a completely new vehicle (Kite project) of a city car with 5-door body that could boost the sales of the brand in the Indian territory. Tiago (foaled March 8, 2004, died November 2015) was an American Thoroughbred racehorse who won the 2007 Santa Anita Derby and Awesome Again Stakes. Background His sire was the 1992 U.S. Outstanding Older Male Horse, Pleasant Tap. His dam was the stakes winning mare Set Them Free, by Stop The Music, making him a half-brother to 2005 Kentucky Derby winner Giacomo. The colt was named after the son of singer Sergio Mendes, a longtime friend of the owners. Tiago and Giacomo are the same names, meaning James, the first being Portuguese and the second Italian. Tiago Splitter Beims (born January 1, 1985) is a Brazilian former professional basketball player who played seven seasons in the National Basketball Association (NBA). He is currently serving as player development coach for the Brooklyn Nets.
