Théophile Le Grand de la Liraÿe (1819–1873) was a French Roman Catholic priest, later defrocked, in Vietnam at the time of Charles Rigault de Genouilly's invasion of Vietnam in 1858. The priesthood is the office of the ministers of religion, who have been commissioned ("ordained") with the Holy orders of the Catholic Church. Technically, bishops are a priestly order as well; however, in layman's terms ''priest'' refers only to presbyters and pastors (parish priests).
