Thái Hòa
Thái Hòa is a Districts of Vietnam, town of Nghệ An Province, in the North Central Coast region of Vietnam. It was established in November 2007 on the basis of Thái Hòa townlet (''thị trấn Thái Hòa'') and seven communes formerly belonging to Nghĩa Đàn District. At that time, it had 70,870 inhabitants on an area of 135 km². Thái Hòa is the economic, cultural and social centre of north west Nghệ An. Geography Thái Hòa has a border with Nghĩa Đàn District in the west, north and south and with Quỳnh Lưu District in the east. District-level Town (Vietnam)
A district-level town () is a type of second tier subdivision of Vietnam. District-level towns along with urban districts, districts, municipal cities, and provincial cites have equal status. Also by virtue of Decree No. 42/2009/ND-CP, towns are officially classified into Class-3 or Class-4. The towns may only be a capital of a province, but not of a municipality as the second tier subdivision. At the third tier, towns are divided into wards and communes. Thổ People
The Thổ ethnic group (also Keo, Mon, Cuoi, Ho, Tay Poong) inhabits the mountainous regions of northern Vietnam, mainly Nghệ An Province southwest of Hanoi. Many Thổ speak the Cuoi language, Tho language, which is closely related to Vietnamese language, Vietnamese. The Thổ population numbered 91,430 in 2019. The Thổ are one of the 4 main groups of Vietic speakers in Vietnam, the others being the Vietnamese people, Việt, Muong people, Mường, and Chứt people, Chứt. The name Thổ, which means "autochthonous" was originally applied to the Tay people, Tày ethnic group, however this usage is obsolete. Thai people, historically known as Siamese people, are an ethnic group native to Thailand.
