Thuthapuzha River is one of the main tributaries of the Bharathapuzha River, the second-longest river in Kerala, south India. It flows through Malappuram district, Malappuram-Palakkad district, Palakkad district border. In Mannarkkad region the river is named as Kunthipuzha that flows through the Silent Valley National Park. Elamkulam, Malappuram, Elamkulam, Thiruvegappura, Veliyakulam and Pulamanthole are places of importance situated on the bank of this river. Kannadipuzha
Kannadipuzha River is one of the main tributaries of the Bharathapuzha River, the second-longest river in Kerala, south India. The Kannadipuzha (called as Shokanashini ) originates in the foothills of the Anamalai hills in the eastern fringes of Palakkad district of Kerala. It flows through the southern borders of Palakkad town before joining the Bharatapuzha. The Kannadipuzha along with the Kalpathipuzha and Gayatripuzha irrigate a major portion of the Palakkad district which is also called the 'rice bowl' of Kerala. Along the banks of the rivers are Tamil Brahmin villages called Agraharam, where Tamil speaking Brahmins, who had migrated from various Brahmin Agraharams in Tamil Nadu reside keeping their distinctive culture, temple, mode of worship intact. Kalpathipuzha
Kalpathipuzha River is one of the main tributaries of the Bharathapuzha River, the second-longest river in Kerala, south India. The Kalpathipuzha originates in the upper slopes of the Western Ghats deep inside Palakkad district from the place called Chenthamarakulam in the hills, north of Walayar. It is formed from the confluence of four tributaries, namely the Malampuzha River, Walayar River, Korayar River and Varattar River. The Malampuzha Dam is built across this river just before it enters Palakkad town. The river is named after the Kalpathi Siva temple in Palakkad town which is famous for its festival. One of the problems faced by the Kalpathypuzha, like most other rivers in Kerala, is illegal sand mining. This has left many pits in the river bed, which leads to shrub growth. Gayathripuzha
Gayathripuzha River is one of the main tributaries of the Bharathapuzha River, the second-longest river in Kerala, south India. It originates from Anamala hills, passes through Kollengode, Nenmara (Nemmara), Alathur, Padur and Pazhayannur before joining the Bharathapuzha at Mayannur. It is the second largest tributary of Bharathapuzha, by both length and discharge. It flows mainly through Palakkad district, except the last few kilometres. Bharathapuzha
Bharathappuzha ("River of Bhārata"), also known as the Nila or Ponnani River, is a river in India in the state of Kerala. With a length of 209 km, it is the second longest river that flows through Kerala after the Periyar. It flows through Palakkad Gap, which is also the largest opening in the Kerala portion of Western Ghats. Nila has groomed the culture and life of South Malabar part of Kerala. It is also referred to as "Peraar" in ancient scripts and documents. Thuppanadupuzha River is a river in India. It is one of the tributaries of the river Thuthapuzha. ''Thuthapuzha'' is one of the main tributaries of the Bharathapuzha River, the second-longest river in Kerala, south India. Thuppanadupuzha originates from the Kalladikodan hills which is 1099 metres high and is a part of the palakkad hills along the northern lip of the Palakkad gap. Kunthippuzha
The Kunthipuzha River is a waterway located in the state of Kerala, India. It flows through the Silent Valley National Park. This river is also called as Thuthapuzha by the local population. Kunthipuzha is one of the main tributaries of the Bharathapuzha River, the second-longest river in Kerala. This river is mainly used by the people of Mannarkkad taluk and Pattambi Taluks of Palakkad district and Perinthalmanna Thaluk of Malappuram District. This river is known for the story of bathing of Kunthi devi, the mother of pandavas and so it is named as Kunthippuzha. Pulamanthole
Pulamanthole is a Panchayath in Malappuram district of Kerala, India. It is situated on the banks of Kunthippuzha (also called as Thoothappuzha). The river separates Malappuram and Palakkad districts, a new bridge has been built across it recently. From Pulamanthole one road leads to Kolathur through which Valancheri and Malappuram are accessible from this area. The nearest towns are Perinthalmanna (12 km) and Pattambi (11 km). State Highway - 39 connecting Perumpilavu with Nilambur pass through Pulamanthole. There is one higher secondary school and four primary schools.
