Thurston Armbrister
Thurston Armbrister (born December 25, 1992) is a former American football linebacker. He played college football at the University of Miami. He signed with the Jacksonville Jaguars as an undrafted free agent in 2015. Early years Armbrister was born in 1992 on Christmas morning in Hollywood, Florida as the third of five children. His family affectionately nicknamed him "Head" during his childhood due to his head being big in proportion to his body. Armbrister attended Hollywood Hills High School where he played safety. Armbrister also played basketball and ran track and field in high school. College career Armbrister signed with the University of Miami as late as June 2011 and joined its practice squad as a true freshman. The Professional Indoor Football League (PIFL) was a professional indoor football league that played four seasons from 2012 to 2015. Like the Lone Star Football League, the PIFL was mainly composed of teams formerly part of Southern Indoor Football League (five former SIFL teams and one expansion team in total). Despite the name, this PIFL had no connections to the original Professional Indoor Football League. In sports, the practice squad, also called the taxi squad or practice roster, is a group of players signed by a team but not part of their main roster. Frequently used in gridiron football, they serve as extra players during the team's practices, often as part of the scout team by emulating an upcoming opponent's play style. The XFL is a professional American football minor league consisting of eight teams located across the United States in mid-sized to major markets served by at least one other major professional sports team. The 2015 NFL Draft was the 80th annual meeting of National Football League (NFL) franchises to select newly eligible football players. It took place in Chicago at the Auditorium Theatre and in Grant Park, from April 30 to May 2. The previous fifty NFL drafts (since 1965) had been held in New York City.
