Thurles (Roman Catholic Parish)
Thurles is an ecclesiastical parish in the Thurles deanery of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Cashel and Emly in Ireland. There are two churches in the parish, both in the town of Thurles, County Tipperary: *the Cathedral of the Assumption on the eastern side of the River Suir which passes through the centre of the town; *''Sts. Parish
A parish is a territorial entity in many Christian denominations, constituting a division within a diocese. A parish is under the pastoral care and clerical jurisdiction of a priest, often termed a parish priest, who might be assisted by one or more curates, and who operates from a parish church. The Archdiocese of Cashel and Emly ( ga, Ard-Deoise Chaisil agus Imligh) is an ecclesiastical territory or archdiocese of the Catholic Church ( particularly the Roman Catholic or Latin Church) located in mid-western Ireland and the metropolis of the eponymous ecclesiastical province.
