Thunderhoof (film)
''Thunderhoof'' is a 1948 American Western (genre), Western film directed by Phil Karlson and starring Preston Foster, Mary Stuart (actress), Mary Stuart and William Bishop (actor), William Bishop.Freese p.194 The film's sets were designed by the art director Walter Holscher. Plot Texas rancher Scotty Mason goes into the Mexican desert-country in search of a wild horse, and takes his young wife, Margarita and his hired-hand, The Kid, whose life Scotty had saved a few years earlier. The Kid falls in love with Magarita before they have crossed the Texas border, and spends more time plotting to get rid of Scotty than he does horse-hunting. Before long the two are engaged in fisticuffs in a mountain pass, but Scotty spots the horse he is hunting (Thunderhoof) and the chase is on. Phil Karlson
Phil Karlson (born Philip N. Karlstein; July 2, 1908 – December 12, 1982) was an American film director. Karlson directed '' 99 River Street'', ''Kansas City Confidential'' and ''Hell's Island'', all with actor John Payne, in the early 1950s. Other films include '' The Texas Rangers'' (1951), ''The Phenix City Story'' (1955), '' 5 Against the House'' (1955), ''Gunman's Walk'' (1958), ''The Young Doctors'' (1961) and '' Walking Tall'' (1973). Ted Richmond (June 10, 1910 – December 23, 2013) was an American film producer credited with 66 films between 1940 and 1979. He was born in New Bedford, Massachusetts. Richmond produced films for several studios including Universal Pictures, Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer and Columbia Pictures. His most noted films include ''Return of the Seven'' (1966; with Yul Brynner), ''Red Sun'' (1971; with Charles Bronson), and '' Papillon'' (1973; with Steve McQueen and Dustin Hoffman).
