The Thunderbolt (real name: Yz) is a fictional character appearing in comics published by DC Comics and the name of other fictional Jinn, genie variants within the 5th Dimension as well. Yz was originally portrayed as a genie-like character who hosts Johnny Thunder and then later Jakeem Thunder. He also appeared as an original and ordinary member of the Justice Society of America. Jim Gaffigan and Seth Green each voiced the character in The CW television show ''Stargirl (TV series), Stargirl''. Publication history Thunderbolt (Yz) first appeared in ''Flash Comics'' #1, published with a cover date of January 1940, and was created by John Wentworth and Stan Aschmeier. Fictional character biography Yz is a 5th Dimension Jinn, Genie who resided in a pen that was entrusted to Johnny Thunder on his birthday where the Badhnesians would use it to rule the world. Justice Society Of America
The Justice Society of America (JSA, or Justice Society (JS)) is a superhero team appearing in American comic books published by DC Comics. The team was conceived by editor Sheldon Mayer and writer Gardner Fox during the Golden Age of Comic Books. The JSA first appeared in ''All Star Comics'' #3 (Winter 1940–1941), making it the first team of superheroes in comic books. The original members of the Justice Society of America were Doctor Fate, Hourman, the Spectre, Sandman, Atom, the Flash, Green Lantern, and Hawkman. The team was initially popular, but after the popularity of superhero comics waned in the late 1940s, the JSA's adventures ceased with issue #57 of the title (March 1951). During the Silver Age of Comic Books, DC Comics reinvented several Justice Society members and banded many of them together in a new team, the Justice League of America.
