Thundercats (comics)
The ''ThunderCats'' a superhero comic book series was based on the original television series of the same name. It was originally published by Marvel Comics through its Star Comics imprint in 1985, lasting for 3 years and 24 issues. During this time, a new series was published by Marvel UK consisting of 129 issues and was also published for three years. Beginning in 2002 ''Thundercats'' titles were published by Wildstorm Productions, and including 5 mini-series and several one-shots. Publication history In December of 1985, Star Comics published the first issue of ''ThunderCats''. Publication was bimonthly for the first 8 issues, and then switched to a monthly publication schedule for the remainder of the series, ending in June of 1988. During Star Comics' run, Marvel UK published the first issue of their line of ''ThunderCats'' comics in March of 1987. Sword And Planet
Sword and planet is a subgenre of science fantasy that features rousing adventure stories set on other planets, and usually featuring humans as protagonists. The name derives from the heroes of the genre engaging their adversaries in hand-to-hand combat primarily with simple melée weapons such as swords, even in a setting that often has advanced technology. Although there are works that herald the genre, such as Percy Greg's ''Across the Zodiac'' (1880) and Edwin Lester Arnold's '' Lieut. Gullivar Jones: His Vacation'' (1905; published in the US in 1964 as ''Gulliver of Mars''), the prototype for the genre is ''A Princess of Mars'' by Edgar Rice Burroughs originally serialized by ''All-Story'' in 1912 as "Under the Moons of Mars". ThunderCats (2011 TV Series)
''ThunderCats'' is an animated television series, developed by Ethan Spaulding and Michael Jelenic for Cartoon Network. A reboot of the original 1980s TV series of the same name (which ran from 1985 to 1989), ''ThunderCats'' was produced and developed by American studio Warner Bros. Animation and animated by Japanese studio Studio 4°C, and combined elements of western animation with Japanese anime. The series began with an hour-long premiere on Cartoon Network on July 29, 2011. Top Cow released a dozen comics in the 00's. Fiona Avery
Fiona Kai Avery (born September 13, 1974) is a comic book and television writer. Avery was hired as a reference editor for the fifth season of ''Babylon 5'' and later continued in that role for the failed spin-off ''Crusade''. Avery contributed several scripts for the series, including "The Well of Forever" and " Patterns of the Soul", as well as the unfilmed "Value Judgements" and "Tried and True". Following the cancellation of ''Crusade'', Avery turned to comic book writing, working for Marvel and Top Cow on titles including ''The Amazing Spider-Man'' and ''Tomb Raider''.
