Sandra Kogut
Sandra Kogut is a filmmaker born 1965 in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, whose works transition between documentary and narrative fiction. She first received international attention for her 1991 documentary ''Paralamas do Sucesso''. Kogut has taught at renowned universities around the world and has worked for Brazilian and European broadcasters. Her debut feature film project was the multi award-winning '' Mutum'' in 2007. She is more recently known for ''Campo Grande'' (2015), which had its premiere in the Contemporary World Cinema section of the 2015 Toronto International Film Festival. Regina Casé
Regina Maria Loureiro Barreto Casé OMC (born 25 February 1954) is a Brazilian actress, screenwriter, director, producer, and television presenter. Career In 1974, Casé, together with Hamilton Vaz Pereira, Jorge Alberto Soares, Luiz Arthur Peixoto e Daniel Dantas, founded a theater company called Asdrúbal Trouxe o Trombone ("Asdrúbal brought the trombone") in Rio de Janeiro. The group was influential in the cultural scene of Rio in the late 1970s. The group's debut production was an adaptation of '' The Inspector General'' by Nikolai Gogol. For her performance in that production, Casé won the Governor's Prize for breakout actress. Another important production was ''Trate-me Leão'' in 1977, which won the Molière Prize. The 44th annual Toronto International Film Festival was held from 5 to 15 September 2019. The opening gala was the documentary film '' Once Were Brothers: Robbie Robertson and The Band'', directed by Daniel Roher, and the festival closed with a screening of the biographical film ''Radioactive'', directed by Marjane Satrapi. Awards In addition to its regular film awards, whose winners were announced at the conclusion of the festival, the festival also announced the inaugural TIFF Tribute Awards, a special program to honour distinguished lifetime achievement in film.
