Three Shadows Photography Art Centre (Chinese: 三 影 堂 摄 影 艺 术 中 心), is a non-profit art centre in Beijing established in 2007 by photographers RongRong and ''inri''. Three Shadows is the first contemporary art space dedicated exclusively to photography and other lens-based art in China. A converted auto repair yard, the 4,600 square meter complex includes 880 square meters of gallery space and was designed by renowned artist and architect Ai Weiwei. City Weekend
''City Weekend'' was a free, bi-weekly entertainment event and venue listing magazine based out of China. Its on-line edition was both autonomous and complementary to the print magazine - ''City Weekend'' was "reader-powered" and sources most of its information directly from the expat community. The last publication was in 2018 and they have closed operations in China since then. The website is not maintained anymore. History and profile Founded in 1999, ''City Weekend'' created content related to dining, nightlife, arts, culture, health and wellness, fashion and shopping, local community news, and travel in the English language. It was one of the highest-circulation English magazines in China available free. The magazine distinguished itself by being one of the first private English language publications in China - it had been distributed since 1999 in Beijing, and 2000 in Shanghai; up until 2018. Photography is the art, application, and practice of creating durable images by recording light, either electronically by means of an image sensor, or chemically by means of a light-sensitive material such as photographic film.
