Three Rivers Conference (Illinois)
The Three Rivers Conference, also known as the TRAC-8 (Three Rivers Athletics Conference), is a high school conference in northwest Illinois. The conference participates in athletics and activities in the Illinois High School Association. The conference comprises small public, and two private, high schools with enrollments between 200-600 students in portions of Bureau, Henry, Lee, Rock Island, and Whiteside counties. Illinois High School Association
The Illinois High School Association (IHSA) is an association that regulates competition of interscholastic sports and some interscholastic activities at the high school level for the state of Illinois. It is a charter member of the National Federation of State High School Associations (NFHS). The IHSA regulates 14 sports for boys, 15 sports for girls, and eight co-educational non-athletic activities. More than 760 public and private high schools in the state of Illinois are members of the IHSA. The Association's offices are in Bloomington, Illinois. In its over 100 years of existence, the IHSA has been at the center of many controversies. Mendota Township High School
Mendota Township High School is a secondary school located at 2300 W. Main Street, Mendota, Illinois. It currently educates, as of August 2010, 619 students. The school lies within School District No. 280, and MTHS is the only school that the district operates. The district superintendent is Jeff Prusator who has been serving in that position since 2004. Princeton High School (officially Princeton Township High School) is a high school located at 103 S. Euclid Ave in Princeton, Illinois. It generally has an attendance close to 600 students. History Princeton High School was founded in 1867 and graduated its first class in 1869. The school was started as a boarding school and taught subjects as English, mathematics, history, and the sciences. The school was enlarged in both 1894 and 1908 in order to accommodate for increases in attendance. The school was completely destroyed by fire on December 15, 1924. Plans were then drawn up to build a new school, but in the meantime, classes were held in City Hall, the Post Office, and the Christian and Mission Covenant Churches in Princeton. Newman Central Catholic High School
Newman Central Catholic High School is a diocesan Catholic high school in Sterling, Illinois. It is located in the Roman Catholic Diocese of Rockford. It was founded as St. Mary High School in 1915, a parochial school attached to St. Mary's Parish. It later moved across the street and became Community Catholic High School. It adopted its present name when it moved into its current facilities in 1960. It was staffed in its early years by the Sisters of Loreto, but nearly all the staff today is laity.
