Three Days To Live
''Three Days to Live'' (french: Trois jours à vivre) is a 1957 French crime film directed by Gilles Grangier and starring Daniel Gélin, Jeanne Moreau and Lino Ventura.Goble p.474 It was shot at the Saint-Maurice Studios in Paris and on location in Le Havre and Rouen. The film's sets were designed by the art director Roger Briaucourt. It premiered at the Cannes Film Festival in August 1957. Synopsis An actor, struggling as a part of a company touring the provinces, identifies the suspect in a murder case and becomes an overnight sensation. However the man he has accused escapes and now threatens him. Gilles Grangier
Gilles Grangier (5 May 1911 – 27 April 1996) was a French film director and screenwriter. He directed more than 50 films and several TV series between 1943 and 1985. His film '' Archimède le clochard'' was entered into the 9th Berlin International Film Festival, where Jean Gabin won the Silver Bear for Best Actor. He had the most number of successful films at the French box office between 1945 and 2001 with 42 of his films having admissions of 500,000 or more, more than any other. Moustache (actor)
François-Alexandre Galepides, known by the stage name Moustache, was a French actor and jazz drummer of Greek descent. He was born 14 February 1929 in Paris and died 25 March 1987 in Arpajon in a car accident. Biography In 1948 he joined Lorient, the orchestra of Claude Luter, as a drummer, playing in clubs of Saint-Germain-des-Prés. He also regularly accompanied Sidney Bechet in France. From 1950, he led his own bands (''Les sept complices'' and ''Les gros minets''). With the group Moustache et ses Moustachus, from 1956, he recorded, as a drummer and singer, several rock'n'roll novelty songs (e.g. "Le Croque-Skull-Creux", on a text by Boris Vian). Georges Flamant
Georges Flamant (1903–1990) was a French film actor. Flamant came to attention for his role as a pimp in Jean Renoir's 1931 film ''La Chienne'' where he starred alongside Janie Marèse. He began a relationship with Marèse, but while driving on a holiday in the South of France their car crashed and she was killed.Crisp p.48 Flamant was widely vilified in the press for his role in the tragedy, and was ostracised by some parts of the film community for several years. He subsequently married the star Viviane Romance, and appeared alongside her in several productions. His final film performance was in François Truffaut's New Wave drama ''The 400 Blows'' in 1959.
