Toxic Holocaust
Toxic Holocaust is an American thrash metal band from Portland, Oregon. History Joel Grind founded Toxic Holocaust in 1999. He originally wrote and recorded all of the band's music himself, and after a couple of demo releases (''Radiation Sickness'', 1999; ''Critical Mass'', 2002), he made his official album debut as Toxic Holocaust with ''Evil Never Dies'' (2003). Two years later, after some touring with a hired backing band, Grind released the second Toxic Holocaust album, '' Hell on Earth'' (2005), which once again he wrote and recorded by himself. The album notably features cover art by Ed Repka, known for having created iconic covers for albums by Megadeth, Death and others. Black metal is an extreme metal, extreme subgenre of heavy metal music. Destruction (band)
Destruction is a German thrash metal band formed in 1982. They are often credited as one of the "Big Four" of the German thrash metal scene, the others being Kreator, Sodom and Tankard. In addition to helping pioneer black metal by containing several elements of what was to become the genre, Destruction was part of the second wave of thrash metal in the mid-to-late 1980s, along with American bands like Testament, Sacred Reich, Death Angel and Dark Angel. For most of the 1990s, the band was not signed to a record label and was forced to self-produce their albums until they signed a contract with Nuclear Blast in the early 2000s. Bathory (band)
Bathory was a Swedish black metal band formed in Vällingby in March 1983. Eponymously named after the Hungarian countess Elizabeth Báthory, they are often considered pioneers of black metal (alongside Venom and Mercyful Fate) and viking metal. The 1998 book '' Lords of Chaos'' described Bathory's first four albums as "the blueprint for Scandinavian black metal." Acts influenced by their early records include Mayhem, Burzum, Darkthrone, Gorgoroth, Satyricon, Immortal, Emperor, Dark Funeral, Enslaved, Marduk, Moonsorrow and Dimmu Borgir.
