Thor Jørgen Spurkeland
Thor Jørgen Spurkeland (born 12 May 1987) is an inactive Norwegian footballer who played midfielder and striker. Biography Spurkeland grew up in Knarvik, Norway and played for NBK's youth team. In 2003, he was transferred to Brann and played his first game on 26 May 2004 against Norheimsund. Brann won the Norwegian Cup the following season and Spurkeland was given the Kniksen Award. He scored his first goal on 7 May 2005 in a Norwegian Cup game against Gneist. In 2006, he was loaned to Løv-Ham, then signed a two-year contract with Brann and was sent to play for Fyllingen Fotball In 2008, Spurkeland was selected to play for the Firdalaget team and was transferred to Førde Førde is a former municipality in the county of Sogn og Fjordane, Norway. Kniksen Award
The Kniksen Award ( no, Kniksenprisen), established in 1990, honors the best players in the Norwegian football premiership. The award is named after the legendary Norwegian football player Roald Jensen, nicknamed "Kniksen". Categories Category A A jury composed of players, leaders, coaches and officials in the Tippeligaen, nominates and choose the winners in each category. All the nominees must play in the Norwegian top division. The player's nationality does not matter. Sunnfjord
Sunnfjord ( en, the southern fjord - in contrast to Nordfjord) is a traditional district in Western Norway located in Vestland county. It includes the municipalities of Askvoll, Fjaler, the southernmost parts of Kinn, Sunnfjord, and the southernmost parts of Bremanger. It covers an area of about and has a population (2016) of 43,324–about 8% of the population of Vestland county. The central geographical characteristic of the Sunnfjord region are the fjords: Dalsfjorden and Førdefjorden. It is a tourist region, with waterfalls, fishing, white-water rafting, glaciers, hiking, and scenery–including Jostedalsbreen National Park. 2004 Norwegian Football Cup
The 2004 Norwegian Football Cup was the 99th edition of the Norwegian Football Cup. The tournament was contested by 128 teams, going through 7 rounds before a winner could be declared. The final match was played on 7 November at Ullevaal stadion in Oslo. Brann won their 6th Norwegian Championship title after defeating Lyn in the final with the score 4–1. The clubs from Tippeligaen all made it to round 3 (round of 32). However, six Tippeligaen teams - Vålerenga, Odd Grenland, Viking, Fredrikstad, Molde and Sogndal - were knocked out in the third round. The fourth round (round of 16) saw two more top tier clubs - Tromsø and Bodø/Glimt - being knocked out, leaving six Tippeligaen teams and two 1. divisjon teams the quarter-finals. Brann won the cup, beating Lyn 4–1 in the final match.
