''Thoondil Meen'' () is a 1977 Indian Tamil-language thriller film directed by Ra. Sankaran. The film stars Lakshmi, Mohan Sharma and Major Sundarrajan. It was released on 1 April 1977. The film was remade in Hindi as '' Trishna'' (1978), in Kannada as ''Avala Hejje'' (1981) and in Telugu as ''Bandhalu Anubandhalu'' (1982). Tiruchirapalli Srinivasan Rangarajan, professionally credited by his pseudonym Vaali (born 29 October 1931 – 18 July 2013) was an Indian poet who is the highest songs wrote lyricist in cinema and whose works were in Tamil, had a five-decade long association with the Tamil film industry, wrote over 15,000 songs. Mahalakshmi (born 13 December 1952), known professionally as Lakshmi, is an Indian actress known for her works primarily in the southern film industry (distributing her acting career in almost each Dravidian language equally), along with some Hindi films. She made her film debut through a Tamil film '' Sri Valli'' in 1961. Her debut as an actress happened with the Tamil film '' Jeevanaamsam'' in 1968. In the same year, she also debuted in Kannada and Telugu films with ''Goa Dalli CID 999'' and '' Bandhavyalu'', respectively.
