Bjørn Thomassen
Bjørn Thomassen (born 1968) is an anthropologist and social scientist. He is associate professor at Roskilde University in the Department of Society and Globalisation. From 2003-2012 he worked at The American University of Rome, where he was chair of the department of International Relations. Education Thomassen holds BA and MA degrees in Anthropology from the Institute of Anthropology at the University of Copenhagen (1994 and 1997) and a Doctoral Degree (Ph.D.) in Political and Social Science from the Department of Political and Social Sciences (2001), at the European University Institute, Florence, Italy. Carsten Thomassen (journalist)
Carsten Thomassen (15 May 1969 – 14 January 2008) was a Norwegian journalist, political commentator and war correspondent for the Norwegian daily newspaper '' Dagbladet''. He had earlier covered the 2004 Indian Ocean earthquake from Thailand and Indonesia. He was killed in the 2008 Kabul Serena Hotel attack in Kabul, Afghanistan. Circumstances of his death On 14 January 2008, Thomassen was covering Norwegian Foreign Minister Jonas Gahr Støre's visit to Kabul. Støre and his entourage were staying in the Serena Hotel, as were several foreign reporters and diplomats. While Thomassen was waiting to meet Støre in the lobby, at least two Talibani militants forced their way into the Serena Hotel by killing the guards posted outside the main entrance using hand grenades. Dan Vesterby Thomassen (born 24 March 1981) is a Danish former professional footballer and current coach. He has played for Danish Superliga side AGF Aarhus, Norwegian side Vålerenga and Danish champions Copenhagen. Playing career Thomassen came to FCK from Calcio Padova where he played for five years. Magne Thomassen (born 1 May 1941) is a former speed skater from Norway. He participated in international championships over a period of more than ten years. He took part in 23 country matches for Norway in the period 1959–1971 and competed in the European Speed Skating Championships, World Allround Speed Skating Championships and World Sprint Speed Skating Championships between 1962 and 1972. He was the son of Salmaker Osmund Thomassen (1816-1892) and Caroline Olava Thomine Eckhoff (1828-1871). He made his stage debut in 1881 at Den Nationale Scene in Bergen. Reidar Thomassen (18 June 1936 – 13 February 2024), known by the pseudonym Richard Macker, was a Norwegian writer. Biography Reidar Thomassen was born in Harstad as a son of Lieutenant Colonel Haakon Ivar Thomassen (1895–1982) and nurse Edith Mack (1905–94).
