Thomas Best Woodward (1814–1875), M.A. was an Anglican priest in Ireland during the 19th century. Woodward was born in County Tipperary in 1814 and educated at Trinity College, Dublin. Thomas Bullene Woodward is an Episcopal Church in the United States of America, Episcopal priest and clown. Having graduated from Harvard University and the General Theological Seminary, he has served as a chaplain at universities including the University of Kansas, the University of Rochester and the University of Wisconsin–Madison. Early life Woodward grew up in Topeka, Kansas, the son of Brinton Webb Woodward and his wife. His brother Brinton W. Woodward, Jr. was a student at the General Theological Seminary, and became an ordained priest in the 1960s. Woodward studied at Phillips Academy in Andover, Massachusetts, Andover and graduated ''cum laude'' from Harvard University in 1960. Sir Thomas Jones Woodward (born 7 June 1940), known professionally as Tom Jones, is a Welsh singer. His career began with a string of top-ten hits in the mid-1960s. He has toured regularly, with appearances in Las Vegas (1967–2011). Jones's voice has been described by AllMusic as a "full-throated, robust baritone". His performing range has included pop, R&B, show tunes, country, dance, soul and gospel. Thomas Morgan Woodward (September 16, 1925 – February 22, 2019) was an American actor who is best known for his recurring role as Marvin "Punk" Anderson on the television soap opera ''Dallas'' and for his portrayal of Boss Godfrey, the sunglasses-wearing "man with no eyes", in the 1967 film ''Cool Hand Luke''. On TV, he was a familiar guest star on cowboy shows. On the long-running Western ''Gunsmoke'', he played 16 different characters in 19 episodes (including a pair of two-part stories), the most such appearances of any actor on the show. Thomas Jenkinson Woodward
Thomas Jenkinson Woodward (1745–1820) was an English botanist. Life Born 23 Feb 1745, he was a native of Huntingdon. His parents died when he was quite young, leaving him, however, financially independent. He was educated at Eton College and Clare Hall, Cambridge, where he graduated LL.B. in 1769. Shortly after that he married Frances (d. 27 November 1833), the daughter and heiress of Thomas Manning of Bungay, Suffolk. Woodward was appointed a magistrate and deputy-lieutenant for the county of Suffolk. When he moved to Walcot Hall, Diss, Norfolk, he took on the same posts for that county. On the establishment of the volunteer system he became lieutenant-colonel of the Diss volunteers. Woodward was elected a fellow of the Linnean Society of London in 1789. He died at Diss on 28 January 1820, and was buried there. He left no issue. Thomas Simpson Woodward (February 22, 1797 – 1859) was a U.S. Army general who settled and named the area that developed into Tuskegee, Alabama. Late in life, he wrote letters about his experiences with and beliefs about American Indians. Woodward was born in Elbert County, Georgia around 1794 and was orphaned at a young age. He was raised by his mother and her brother. He became a brigadier general in the Georgia militia and fought alongside Creek Indians. He migrated west and established a plantation in Camden, Arkansas, a town he named. He later moved to Wheeling in Winn Parish, Louisiana and established a 16,000-acre plantation, which he named Montgomery after the capital city of Alabama. With James Dent he plotted land he owned and named it Tuskegee. A collection of his letters was published in 1859 as ''Woodward's Reminiscences of the Creek, or Muscogee Indians, Contained in Letters to Friends in Georgia and Alabama'', in Montgomery, Alabama.
