Thomas Ulimwengu
Thomas Emanuel Ulimwengu (born 14 June 1993) is a Tanzanian footballer who plays as a striker for TP Mazembe and the Tanzania national football team. Career Youth career Ulimwengu grew up in Dodoma, the Tanzanian capital, where he played for local club team Area C. At the age of 14 he was selected for the Dodoma Region U-17 team. Soon after, he was selected through a nationwide talent search to join the first class of the Tanzania Soccer Academy, a joint project between the Tanzania Football Federation and British investors. Ulimwengu impressed at the soccer academy and was soon called up to the Tanzania U-17 national team. He was joint top scorer in the 2009 CECAFA U-17 Championship, in which Tanzania finished 2nd. After his good performance in the competition, he was regularly called up by coach Marcio Maximo to practice with the senior national team, the Taifa Stars. 2019–20 Linafoot
The 2019–20 Linafoot is the 59th season of the Linafoot, the top-tier football league in the Democratic Republic of the Congo, since its establishment in 1958. The season started on 16 August 2019., suspended on 16 March 2020 and abandoned on 13 May 2020 by the Congolese Association Football Federation due to the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic in DR Congo. TP Mazembe, who were at first place at the time of abandonment (table considered final) and declared champions, and AS Vita Club, who were at second place, will represent DR Congo in the 2020–21 CAF Champions League. 2013 Linafoot
The 2013 Linafoot season (known as the ''Vodacom Superligue 2013'' for sponsorship reasons) was the 52nd edition since its establishment. It began on 20 March 2013 and ended on 23 June 2013. Only the first round was disputed, as halfway into the tournament, the Congolese Association Football Federation (FECOFA) decided to switch to a new competition format, with 'European' style calendar from October to May. The 2013-14 Linafoot was the first edition to be disputed under the new format. All matches played by TC Elima were awarded as 0-3 victories to its opponents after the completion of the tournament, for fielding an ineligible player, Patou Tingo Disasi. The Vodacom Ligue 1 is the top division of the Congolese Association Football Federation, the governing body of football (soccer), football in the Democratic Republic of the Congo. It was created in 1958. In 2013, the highest attendance was set in the match DC Motema Pembe - AS Vita Club, which saw an attendance of 80,000 football fans at Stade des Martyrs. TP Mazembe is the most successful club with 19 titles. In 2010 the competition was renamed the ''Vodacom Super League'' following the signing of a five-year sponsorship deal with communications company Vodacom. The 2011 Linafoot season was the 50th season of Top League Linafoot in DR Congo. Defending champions are AS Vita from Kinshasa. Seventeen teams entered the competition. TP Mazembe won the championship. Changes from 2010 A new format was introduced. In contrast to the previous season, the final round is made up of eight teams in one group. In 2010 eight teams were divided into two groups of four with the top two finishers advancing to yet another group stage. The winner of the group of 8 will be the champion. The CAF Confederation Cup, known as the TotalEnergies CAF Confederation Cup for sponsorship purposes, is an annual association football club competition established in 2004 from a merger of the CAF Cup and the African Cup Winners' Cup and organized by CAF. Clubs qualify for the competition based on their performance in their national leagues and cup competitions. It is the second-tier competition of African club football, ranking below the CAF Champions League. The winner of the tournament faces the winner of the aforementioned competition in the following season's CAF Super Cup.
