Thomas Tigue
Thomas M. Tigue (August 24, 1945 – February 1, 2016) was a United States Marine Corps Officer and combat veteran, an American politician, a Democratic member of the Pennsylvania House of Representatives. Early life Thomas Michael Tigue was born in Hughestown, Pennsylvania, to Michael F. Tigue and his wife. He graduated from St. John's the Evangelist High School in 1964. He earned a B.A. degree in government from King's College in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania, in 1968. Career He served in the U.S. Marine Corps in the Vietnam War, earning a Silver Star. He served 27 years in the Marine Corps Reserve. He has pursued graduate studies at Marywood University. He was a Legislative Fellow at East Stroudsburg University and a member of the Pittston Area School Board. Seton Catholic High School (Pittston, Pennsylvania)
Seton Catholic High School was a Roman Catholic high school in Pittston, Pennsylvania named after Elizabeth Ann Seton. The school was originally called St. John's High School, and burned down on February 19, 1960. It was renovated in 1961, renamed in 1976 to the Seton Catholic High School, and was consolidated into Holy Redeemer High School in 2007. History The St. John's parochial schools date back to 1864 with the first graduating class of the St. John's Academy being in 1865. In 1881, plans for a free school were developed and an initial donation of $2,000 was provided by Michael Reap. The St. John's High School was chartered on March 17, 1900. Lung cancer, also known as lung carcinoma (since about 98–99% of all lung cancers are carcinomas), is a malignant lung tumor characterized by uncontrolled cell growth in tissue (biology), tissues of the lung. The 2006 elections for the Pennsylvania House of Representatives were held on November 7, 2006, with all districts being contested. Necessary primary elections were held on May 16, 2006. Members elected in 2006 were inaugurated on January 2, 2007. State Representatives are elected for two-year terms, with the entire House of Representatives up for a vote every two years. While initial results of the elections showed the Republicans holding onto a one-seat majority in the state house, the race in the 156th district in Chester County had only 19 votes separating the candidates. A further count of provisional ballots and absentee ballots gave the Democrats a victory in the 156th district by 23 votes.
