Thomas James Tait
Sir Thomas James Tait (24 July 1864 – 25 July 1940) was a Canada, Canadian-born rail executive. Born in Melbourne, Quebec, Melbourne, Quebec, the son of Melbourne McTaggart Tait, Tait entered the service of the Grand Trunk Railway in 1880, and by 1903 he was manager of transportation with Canadian Pacific Railway company. In March 1903 Tait was appointed Chairman of Commissioners of the Victorian Railways, Australia with a salary of £3000 per annum. During seven years in Victoria he turned an annual deficit into a profit, improved and increased the railways' rolling stock, and initiated electrification of the Railways in Melbourne, railways of Melbourne. Thomas Tait (cricketer)
Thomas Tait (7 October 1872 – 6 September 1954) was an English first-class cricketer, who played two matches for Yorkshire County Cricket Club in 1898 and 1899. Born in Langley Moor, County Durham, England, Tait was a right-handed batsman, who scored seven runs in three innings with one not out, at an average of 3.50. He also took one catch. Tait died in September 1954 in Brierley Brierley () is a village and former civil parish in the Metropolitan Borough of Barnsley in South Yorkshire, England. The civil parish was abolished in 2016.
