Sir Thomas Salisbury (or Salusbury) (1564 – 21 September 1586) was one of the conspirators executed for his involvement in the Babington Plot. Early life Salisbury was the elder son of Katheryn of Berain and her first husband, Sir John Salusbury, and was the heir to the Lleweni Estate. Salisbury's father died in 1566 shortly after the birth of his second son Sir John Salusbury. He married Margaret Wynn (daughter of Katheryn's third husband, Maurice Wynn) in 1575 through a child marriage. Salisbury did not assent to the marriage, and the couple were estranged for a period prior to the birth of their daughter Margaret. Salisbury's daughter Margaret would eventually inherit Berain, whereas Lleweni went to Thomas's younger brother, Sir John Salusbury. Sir Thomas Salusbury, 2nd Baronet
Sir Thomas Salusbury, 2nd Baronet (March 1612 – 1643) was a Welsh poet, politician and soldier, who supported King Charles I in English Civil War and was a colonel of a Royalist regiment. Life Salusbury was born in March 1612, the eldest son of Sir Henry Salusbury of Lleweni, the first of the Salusbury Baronets. After spending some time at Jesus College, Oxford, without taking a degree, he entered the Inner Temple in November 1631 but left in July 1632 on the death of his father to take control of the family estate at Lleweni Hall, Denbighshire. He was a member of the commission of the peace for Flintshire and Denbighshire, Wales and was elected to the common council of the Denbigh corporation in 1632. He was MP for Denbighshire in the Short Parliament of 1640, but said little; his relative Sir Thomas Myddleton succeeded him in the Long Parliament. Thomas Salusbury (died 1756), of Shotwick Park, near Chester, born as Thomas Brereton, was a British Whig politician who sat in the House of Commons between 1724 and 1756. He was also Lord Mayor of Liverpool. Brereton was the son of Edward Brereton of Chester, a saddler and innkeeper, and his wife Mary Fletcher, daughter of John Fletcher, a barber of Chester.
