Thomas Philander Ryder
Thomas Philander Ryder (June 29, 1836 – December 2, 1887) was an American composer, organist, teacher, conductor, and organ builder. Ryder was born in Cohasset, Massachusetts. He studied with Gustav Satter before taking a post as a church organist in Hyannis. From 1879 he served at the Tremont Temple in Boston. He also served as choirmaster and teacher, and compiled anthologies of sacred and secular partsongs. He was also popular as a composer of hymns and parlor pieces for piano.He published at least 124 opus numbers, including sets of works- his opus 124, a Valse caprice for piano, was published in 1886 and renewed by his widow, Eliza J. Thomas P. Ryder (born 21 February 1985) is a former rugby union player who played at Rugby union positions#4. & 5. Lock, lock, latterly for Yorkshire Carnegie in the RFU Championship. Early life Ryder was born in Nottingham, England on 21 February 1985 and educated at Southwell Minster School and Uppingham School. He began playing rugby at the age of seven at Newark R.U.F.C. before joining Leicester Tigers Academy system at the age of 16, having captained England's under-16 side. Club career Ryder made three appearances in the English Premiership (rugby union), Zurich Premiership for Leicester Tigers. During his time with the club, Ryder captained England at Under 19 level. Ryder left the ''Tigers'' to join Saracens F.C., Saracens in the summer of 2005. Thomas Ryder (actor)
Thomas Ryder (1735–1790) was a British actor and theatre manager, associated with the Smock Alley Theatre in Dublin. As a player, he was considered at his best in low comedy. Early life The son of the actor-manager Preswick Ryder (d. 1771) and his actress wife Sarah, he was perhaps born in Nottinghamshire. He had early stage experience in Scotland, at least. The Dublin stage Ryder appeared on 7 December 1757 at Smock Alley Theatre, Dublin, then under the management of Thomas Sheridan, playing Captain Plume in '' The Recruiting Officer'' to the Captain Brazen of Samuel Foote. Thomas Ryder (1746–1810), engraver, was a pupil of James Basire, and during his apprenticeship established drawings with the Society of Artists of Great Britain, Society of Artists in 1766 and 1767. He was also one of the first students in the schools of the Royal Academy. Works Ryder engraved a few plates in the line manner, of which the most important are "The Politician" (a portrait of Benjamin Franklin), after Stephen Elmer, S. Tom Ryder (born May 27, 1949) is an American lawyer and politician. Ryder was born near Medora, Illinois in Macoupin County, Illinois. He received his bachelor's degree from Northern Illinois University and his Juris Doctor degree from Washington and Lee University School of Law. Ryder served in the Judge Advocate General's Corps with the Illinois National Guard. Ryder lived in Jerseyville, Illinois with his wife and family. He served in the Illinois House of Representatives from 1983 to 2001 and is a Republican.
