Tame Parata
Tame Parata (1837 – 6 March 1917), also known as Thomas Pratt, was a Māori and a Liberal Party Member of Parliament in New Zealand. Parata was born on Ruapuke Island in Foveaux Strait. His father was a Captain Trapp, a whaler from Massachusetts, and his mother was Koroteke of the Ngāi Tahu, Ngāti Mamoe and Waitaha tribes. It is said that Tame reversed his father's name to ''Pratt'', and transliterated it to ''Parata'' in Māori. He won the Southern Maori electorate in the 1885 by-election after the resignation of Hōri Kerei Taiaroa, and held it to 1911, when he retired; he was succeeded in the electorate by his youngest son, Taare Parata. Subsequently on 13 June 1912 Parata Sr was appointed to the New Zealand Legislative Council, where he sat until he died on 6 March 1917. Thomas Pratt (artist)
Shadowbinders is a young adult fantasy webcomic that features a number of steampunk themed elements. The comic is written and drawn by husband and wife Kambrea "Geeky Sparkles" Pratt (writer) and Thomas "Kneon" Pratt (artist), who has worked on Disney comics for Gemstone Publishing. According to a television interview on WTAJ-TV, the current storyline came about when the Pratts mixed two different story ideas together. Since its publication, Shadowbinders has been covered and reviewed by comics media outlets such as Comic Book Resources and Sequential Tart. Overview The comic launched on August 27, 2010 and was initially updated at the rate of 2-3 pages per week. A graphic novel containing the first four chapters was released in October, 2011, and a second in August, 2012 containing Chapters 5 and 6. Thomas George Pratt (February 18, 1804November 9, 1869) was a lawyer and politician from Annapolis, Maryland. He was the List of Governors of Maryland, 27th governor of Maryland from 1845 to 1848 and a United States Senate, U.S. senator from 1850 to 1857. Early life and career Pratt was born in Georgetown, Washington, D.C., Georgetown, Maryland (now a part of Washington, D.C.), completed preparatory studies, and attended Georgetown University. General Sir Thomas Simson Pratt, (1797 – 2 February 1879) was a British Army officer. He served in the First Anglo-Chinese War (1839–1841), in India from 1843 to 1855 where he was deputy adjutant-general at Madras, and was commander of the British Forces in Australia from 1856 to 1861. He was promoted to lieutenant-general on 31 May 1865, and to full general eight years later. He was commander of the British Forces in New Zealand from 1860 to 1861, and was on the Executive Council. He commanded during the First Taranaki War, but as he realised the doubtful validity of the Waitara Purchase (the main cause of the war), he disagreed with Governor Gore Browne, and his military action was ridiculed by the local settlers. Thomas Jefferson Pratt (January 26, 1844 – September 28, 1908) was a professional baseball player who played for the Philadelphia Athletics. He played in one game for the Athletics on October 18, 1871, getting two hits in six at-bats. Thomas Samuel Pratt (born June 21, 1935) is an American football coach in the National Football League (NFL). He played college football at the University of Miami and attended Beloit Memorial High School in Beloit, Wisconsin. He has been a coach in the American Football League and National Football League since 1963. Early years Pratt played high school football at Beloit Memorial High School. He earned all-state honors as a guard in 1952 while the team went undefeated. College career Pratt played offensive guard and linebacker for the Miami Hurricanes from 1953 to 1956, earning All-American honors at linebacker his senior year in 1956. Thomas Peet Pratt (28 August 1873 – 1935) was an English professional footballer who played as an inside forward. Career Pratt started playing for Fleetwood Rangers in 1894, before moving to Grimsby Town in 1895. He then was signed by Preston North End in 1896 where stayed for the next three seasons. Pratt then signed for Tottenham Hotspur in 1899. He was the top scorer while he was at Tottenham, scoring 54 goals in 60 appearances. However, he did not feel settled at the club, and returned to Preston in 1900. He stay in Preston until July 1903. In August 1903, Pratt signed for Arsenal. He made his debut for Arsenal in the opening game of the season in a 3–0 win against Blackpool. In all, Pratt played 10 times for Arsenal and scored one goal.
