Thomas Pkemei Longosiwa
Thomas Pkemei Longosiwa (born January 14, 1982) is a Kenyan professional athlete who has competed at the two Olympics, winning a bronze medal at the 2012 Summer Olympics. A senior police official was accused of forging the age of Longosiwa and some other athletes. The Giro Media Blenio is an annual road running event over 10 kilometres which takes place in April in the village of Dongio, Switzerland. It was created in honour of Markus Ryffel's silver medal in the 5000 metres at the 1984 Los Angeles Olympics. The event, held in the district of Blenio, is divided into four race types. The 10 km ''Grand Prix'' is an elite, open class men's race, while the ''Giro'' provides an alternate 10 km for amateur fun runners. Edwin Soi
Edwin Cheruiyot Soi (born 3 March 1986) is a Kenyan professional long-distance runner who specialises in the 3000 and 5000 metres. He is a two-time Olympian for Kenya. His earliest honours were team gold medals with Kenya at the IAAF World Cross Country Championships in 2006 and 2007. Soi has had his success on the track – he was the 5000 m bronze medallist at the 2008 Beijing Olympics and was highly successful at the IAAF World Athletics Final, taking three gold and three silver medals from 2006 to 2008. He became the continental champion on the track at the 2010 African Championships in Athletics and was the 3000 m bronze medallist at the 2012 IAAF World Indoor Championships. 2011 World Championships In Athletics – Men's 5000 Metres
The men's 5000 metres at the 2011 World Championships in Athletics was held at the Daegu Stadium on September 1 and 4. Jake Robertson of New Zealand was added to the final field at the judges' discretion after twice being pushed in his qualifying race. The tactical final was almost full contact, with a pack of 14 staying close into the penultimate lap. Galen Rupp tried to take the kick out early. As the pack began to break up, Eliud Kipchoge went down while the leaders began to string out the field. Mo Farah led through the final lap as a host of Kenyan and finally Ethiopian athletes Imane Merga and Dejen Gebremeskel took a charge at him. Bernard Lagat worked his way through the traffic, coming up behind the final two Ethiopian runners pulling past them in lane 3 on the final straight. Lagat couldn't catch Farah.
