Thomas David Morrison
Thomas David Morrison ( 1796March 19, 1856) was a doctor and political figure in Upper Canada. He was born in Quebec City around 1796 and worked as a clerk in the medical department of the British Army during the War of 1812. He studied medicine in the United States and returned to York, Upper Canada, York in 1824 to become a doctor in Upper Canada. He treated patients and served on the Toronto Board of Health during the 1832 and 1834 cholera outbreaks and co-founded the York Dispensary. In 1834 he was elected to the 12th Parliament of Upper Canada, representing the third riding of York County, Ontario, York County as part of the Reform movement (Upper Canada), reform movement. That same year he was elected as an alderman to the Toronto City Council and reelected the subsequent two years. In 1836, he served a term as mayor of Toronto. Thomas Fletcher Morrison
Thomas Fletcher Morrison (February 22, 1808 – July 23, 1886) was a sailor, farmer and political figure in Nova Scotia, Canada. He represented Londonderry Township from 1851 to 1859 and Colchester County from 1859 to 1863 and from 1867 to 1874 as a Liberal in the Nova Scotia House of Assembly. He was born in Londonderry, Nova Scotia, the son of Joseph A. Morrison and Isabella Fletcher, of Irish descent. In 1838, he married Hannah Faulkner. He married Margaret Brown Fletcher in 1844 after the death of his first wife. Morrison opposed Confederation. Thomas Brash Morison (21 November 1868 – 28 July 1945) was a Scottish politician and judge. In March 1922 he was created a Senator of the College of Justice with the title of Lord Morison. Life Morison was born in Edinburgh. He studied law at the University of Edinburgh where he obtained an MA and LLD. He was called to the bar in Scotland in 1891 and then in England in 1899. He took silk in October 1906. He was knighted in 1906. He was senior Advocate-Depute, 1908–1910 and Deputy Chairman of the Fishery Board for Scotland, 1910–1913. Thomas Morrison (born 6 March 1943) is a Scottish former footballer who played in Scotland, England and Ireland for Aberdeen, Port Vale, and Sligo Rovers. Career Morrison started his career at First Division side Aberdeen, helping Tommy Pearson's "Dons" to 9th and 12th-place finishes in 1963–64 and 1964–65. Thomas Clarence Morrison (28 July 1913 – 31 August 1985) was a New Zealand rugby union player and administrator. A wing three-quarter, Morrison represented South Canterbury and Wellington at a provincial level. He was a member of the New Zealand national side, the All Blacks, on their 1938 tour of Australia, playing in five matches including three internationals. He later served on the executive of the New Zealand Rugby Union from 1946 to 1968, and was its chairman between 1962 and 1968. He was also a national selector between 1950 and 1956. Tommy "The Duke" Morrison (January 2, 1969 – September 1, 2013) was an American professional boxer who competed from 1988 to 2008, and held the WBO heavyweight title in 1993. He retired from boxing in 1996 when he tested positive for HIV. Morrison is also known for his acting career, having starred alongside Sylvester Stallone in the 1990 film ''Rocky V'' as Tommy Gunn. Morrison had previously attempted a comeback to boxing in 2007 when the Nevada commission lifted the indefinite worldwide suspension in July 2006. His comeback was shortlived and never materialized to anything significant beyond two fights. Morrison retired again in 2011.
